Design team makes

Hello everyone...Genny here. For today I'm lucky enough to be working with Janet Kruskamp..The Collection, brought to us crafters by the wonderful Joanna Sheen. I thought that I would go on the fashion route this week, when I found the two images that I've used in the first two cards. I loved the colourways and both images are decoupaged. Just the thing to send to a stylish friend. As I was working on these cards I sat thinking about just how many different types of image that there are on this cdrom. So I thought that I would share with you a selection of other cards made from this cd.

I hope that you enjoyed the selection and that I have managed to share with you what value for money this cd is. There has to be an image suitable for many of your friends. There is just so much on here, from cupcakes, fancy florals, cats, dogs and even pretty boutique shops.

Well the sun is shining here today in the mountains..I hope that the weather is being kind wherever you are.I'm off for a coffee before I get back to my crafting. I'll be back next week with a wonderful stamp from Stampendous, so until then take care and happy crafting.

Design team makes featuring Brambly Hedge

Hello everyone...Genny here. For this weeks design team makes, I am working with the wonderful triple cdrom of Brambly Hedge. This cdrom has been brought to us crafters by Crafters Companion. There is nothing that I just don't love about this cd and find myself using it for lots of different occasions. It features the timeless artwork of Jill Barklem. I always loved the artwork of the Brambly Hedge books, purely for all the detail in every painting. When Henry was little we would spend hours just looking at the artwork and trying to spot all the little items in the picture.

The first card that I made uses the picture of the bedroom. Now who wouldn't want to sleep in that bed. The only embellishments that I have added are some diecut flowers which I coloured with my promarkers and added a gem to every centre. The gems are available to buy from Julie and are just so fabulous to use. They add so much sparkle.

The second card I thought would be a great card to make for friends who are avid home bakers...I love the idea of a large pantry. I die cut some kitchen items to carry on the cooking theme. I tend to cut my die cuts in white, then I can colour them to fit in with whatever colours I'm using. It is so much easier than trying to find a piece of card exactly the colour you need.

It is a fabulous cdrom, packed with the artwork, borders, toppers and doilies to name but a few. There are 3 discs, with discs 1 and 2 separated into spring and summer, autumn and winter. Disc 3 features 12 step by step projects and bonus papers. In the whole set there is an extraordinary amount of backing papers..just beautiful and suitable for use in all your crafting creations.

I hope that the weather is being kind to you and that you had a lovely weekend. I have so enjoyed working with this cd and hope that you will consider adding it to your collection. For anything you need...just ask Julie..as I've said she has an Aladdin's cave of crafting goodies. I know I always look to her as an amazing source of both crafting items and inspiration. So until next week..take care and happy crafting.

Design team makes featuring Joanna Sheen.

Hello everyone ...Genny here. Today for the design team, I have been lucky enough to work with this fabulous cdrom from Joanna Sheen. It is called 'One Summers Day' and features the fabulous artwork of Barbara Mock.

For today's cards I decided to go with the idea of making cards for gardening ladies. The good weather has most of my friends out in their gardens, up to their knees in compost and seedlings. Myself I have 4 trees planted..a pear, an apple, a plum and a cherry. They are already showing signs of new growth. I also had some herbs given to me by a friend, and they seem to be doing well. So with all this in mind, I thought I would make these cards, ready if I decided to send a note to a friend.

I thought that they were both quite similar but both had different goodies on the shelves. Both the images and the backing paper are from the cd but not together if you know what I mean. I was having a look through the cd and found these different backing paper and thought I would use these. I often scan through my cds and find backing papers for a project which does not necessarily need the image that joins it. Sometimes when I stamp an image, I quite often need a backing paper and will look through my cds until I find something suitable. On both these cards, I have done the decoupage which is on the sheet you print out. Also another thing I tend to do is create a border using the same card that I've used as a backing card. I embellished both my cards using flowers from my stash.

As I've said many times, my crafting cdroms have created a library of images and backing papers, that I use on a daily basis. If you would like this cd or any number of embellishments, please get in touch with Julie. She really does have an aladdins cave of crafting goodies. So until next week...I hope that the weather stays fine and we can all spend a little times out of doors. Take care and happy crafting

Design team make featuring The Gruffies and Happy Hoppers

Hello everyone...Genny here. For this weeks makes, I am lucky enough to be working with the fabulous cdrom..The Gruffies and the Happy Hoppers brought to us crafters by the wonderful Joanna Sheen. All the artwork is created by Ellen Jareckie..the creator of house mouse. I love this cd because as many of you will know, I have a little passion for rabbits..lol.

The first card features this lovely Gruffie, having a little nap in his hammock. I have mounted the backing paper and the image onto some blue card. I also created a border using the same. I was lucky enough to have some sunflowers in my stash, so I added them to the border.

For the card below, I mounted the backing paper and the image, also onto some blue card. I created a border and added some shells from my collection to become the embellishment.

There are some fabulous images on this cdrom and is well worth adding to your library. I just love the image above because the little rabbit looks so relaxed. There is a backing paper to match every image and they would also work with lots of your other crafting creations.

I hope that the weather is being kind to you. Last week here in the mountains was like being in the middle of winter. I suppose that is why I picked these two images this week...dreaming of lying in the sun..lol. So until next week, take care and happy crafting.

Design team make featuring the House Mouse Decoupage cdrom

Hello everyone...Genny here. Today I have been lucky enough to work with the wonderful cdrom, brought to us crafters by Joanna Sheen, which features the well loved artwork of Ellen Jareckie. I just love all the artwork of this lady..it always make me smile. This cdrom also features Happy Hoppers and Gruffies, as well as other friends of the mice. This cdrom features 170 pages of decoupage. It also has a selection of backing papers. The papers that I have used on both of these cards are from the House Mouse triple cdrom. I find that they work so well together that I tend to mix and match.

When deciding which to pick, I thought that I would pick a theme. And I decided to pick coffee. Even though I have made these two images into cards, I am thinking that they would be nice pictures on the wall of my kitchen. So many times we are busy making items for everyone else, that we forget to make them for our selves.

I have photographed the card and them a close up of the decoupage. On this card, I love the tiny mouse that is bouncing with his caffeine hit.

I hope that you are all having a good day and that the weather is being kind to you. Here in the mountains it's raining and seems much more like the middle of winter. The only bright side to the weather is that it's the perfect weather to craft. So until next week...take care and happy crafting.
