Hello everyone...Genny here. I hope that you all had a fantastic bank holiday.I have to admit that having a bank holiday always confuses me..I won't know what day it is all the rest of the week..lol. I spent my whole weekend stamping and had a glorious time. I wanted to share the end results with you and take you through my stamping process. It all began with a flower stamp..now I have to be honest here I don't know who produced this stamp set because it was from a bundle of stamps that were given to me by a friend. I've had a look through lots of manufacturers and there are alot out there that are similar. Dreamees, Stamps by Chloe and Lellibot have similar ones. The stamp features the same flower in different sizes. For my cards I stamped the three largest stamps and some of the leaves. I wanted to layer them and use some kraft card as the background. The only thing that I have left to do is to decide what ribbon to add..I'm thinking either a red gingham or a red spot. The only difference between the three cards is the colour that I've used. The top one is coloured with my promarkers, the second with my watercolour pencils and the blue card is also done with watercolours.<br />
<br />

<br />
I hope that you like them. I find it fascinating that just changing the colour medium can make such a difference. It all depends what you are looking for. It has amazed me just how popular kraft card has become and I think that it does give the cards a country feel. I used some stickles to finish off the middles of the flowers.<br />
<br />
The cards below are just an extra to share with you. I needed to make some thankyou cards in a hurry and thought that I would use my watercolours as they were already out.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qu5Db1rS9TI/V8WQ6e_xlZI/AAAAAAAAFG8/ihP6WP_rgWYdE92XzaAVjhrZtLv8UQMvgCLcB/s1600/100_3244.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qu5Db1rS9TI/V8WQ6e_xlZI/AAAAAAAAFG8/ihP6WP_rgWYdE92XzaAVjhrZtLv8UQMvgCLcB/s320/100_3244.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I first took some watercolour card and scribbled some colour on into 3 blocks..I only used 3 colours, a red,orange and yellow. I added some water and blended then together. Then I stamped the two flower images using my Versafine and coloured them with my water colours. I had also stamped the images onto watercolour card. I finally mounted both items onto some black card, stamped a thank you at the bottom and added then to a 6x6 card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mgZX2Jj-Hys/V8WQ9MbNpHI/AAAAAAAAFHA/adigSe3o4I8S9b6BvlcuheN0gt1rlgbuQCLcB/s1600/100_3245.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mgZX2Jj-Hys/V8WQ9MbNpHI/AAAAAAAAFHA/adigSe3o4I8S9b6BvlcuheN0gt1rlgbuQCLcB/s320/100_3245.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Even though they are both using the same colours, they have turned out quite different. But it's so nice to have everything to hand to be able to make a quick card that looks a little special. I also added some stickles to these cards as the box was also out..lol. Now if there is anything you need..stamps, inks, watercolours, card or paper or even stickles..just get in touch with Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies.<br />
Next week I should be doing some heat embossing.. I have had a message from a lady who is new to stamping and wants to do heat embossing. Because I've been crafting for so long, I tend to forget that some people are just beginning and some things I say must sound like a foreign language..lol. So next week I hope to go through heat embossing..so until then..take care and happy crafting.ravenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06862325071621469394noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5385309655241524244.post-2985733868592807482016-08-22T15:07:00.000+01:002016-08-22T15:07:04.171+01:00Design team make...The Loo Roll Book..step by Step<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hello everyone Genny here. As promised here is the step by step details of the loo roll book. I have never had as many messages as I have had regarding these little books. Even people who are not normally crafters seem to have been intrigued by this little book. So here we go.<br />
<br />
First things first..and that's to gather together all you need. I have used 4 toilet roll cardboard's..of course you can use as many as you like..as long as your book rings are large enough. You also need 2 pieces of grey board larger than the toilet roll cardboard's, 2 book rings (I used 1inch ones), some card to make the tags (I used kraft card), a selection of contrasting papers, ribbons and glue. For this project I would advise using a wet glue.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lY1s3hvuxeE/V7sA6u7Z6SI/AAAAAAAAFFE/4YypnPxbQoMxnLG-op2htbygcLYVeM-fgCLcB/s1600/100_3224.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lY1s3hvuxeE/V7sA6u7Z6SI/AAAAAAAAFFE/4YypnPxbQoMxnLG-op2htbygcLYVeM-fgCLcB/s320/100_3224.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jCQFzwMnNck/V7sA-FI0qbI/AAAAAAAAFFI/CLatDGoDOP8PnMWb4WwZPpFAXak57mbqACLcB/s1600/100_3225.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jCQFzwMnNck/V7sA-FI0qbI/AAAAAAAAFFI/CLatDGoDOP8PnMWb4WwZPpFAXak57mbqACLcB/s320/100_3225.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The first job is to cover the greyboard with your chosen papers. I covered what would be the outside first, followed by putting a contrasting paper for the inside.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2AqLKciUnIo/V7sBDYgj-PI/AAAAAAAAFFM/M98HH863jjE_wvXCfEI05qUfjZfFGb2UwCLcB/s1600/100_3226.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2AqLKciUnIo/V7sBDYgj-PI/AAAAAAAAFFM/M98HH863jjE_wvXCfEI05qUfjZfFGb2UwCLcB/s320/100_3226.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qdmrYXoq1nw/V7sBHryYgVI/AAAAAAAAFFQ/haIIGho98u8Ac3bBRh_7e9w74UYpl9F6gCLcB/s1600/100_3227.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-qdmrYXoq1nw/V7sBHryYgVI/AAAAAAAAFFQ/haIIGho98u8Ac3bBRh_7e9w74UYpl9F6gCLcB/s320/100_3227.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I then flattened the toilet rolls using my bone folder to flatten them as much as possible. I then covered the whole thing by wrapping and gluing my paper around the roll.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kjx4Yflvx5c/V7sBNEETbZI/AAAAAAAAFFU/S2IwuMeeQzAdGF6gtpsAOaFyR72aHLYdwCLcB/s1600/100_3228.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kjx4Yflvx5c/V7sBNEETbZI/AAAAAAAAFFU/S2IwuMeeQzAdGF6gtpsAOaFyR72aHLYdwCLcB/s320/100_3228.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I then made to holes. Making sure that the holes in the cover was close enough in the middle to hold the toilet rolls and then using those holes to mark the spacing on the toilet rolls. For my holes I used my Cropodile. It is a tool that I've had for a number of years and honestly use it so much..it has been a wonderful investment.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EF_bHYqFERA/V7sBTT35T1I/AAAAAAAAFFY/Jme3gDfzZDsxCX876LnRZkABEQm0U3VGgCLcB/s1600/100_3229.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EF_bHYqFERA/V7sBTT35T1I/AAAAAAAAFFY/Jme3gDfzZDsxCX876LnRZkABEQm0U3VGgCLcB/s320/100_3229.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I then added toning borders on the edge of my toilet rolls. At this stage you can add any embellishments you like.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y55oN7ycAII/V7sBXe_q09I/AAAAAAAAFFc/6L2rkTq5np8cguUknolwY3Z-n1O1mXnbQCLcB/s1600/100_3230.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Y55oN7ycAII/V7sBXe_q09I/AAAAAAAAFFc/6L2rkTq5np8cguUknolwY3Z-n1O1mXnbQCLcB/s320/100_3230.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I then took a corner punch and rounded the corners of the tags and punched a hole in the middle to hold the ribbon.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vYO9Q8b20Lw/V7sBcUlBsyI/AAAAAAAAFFg/qq4jotH9MKEQrivr0TyIVu4renT3XlOTwCLcB/s1600/100_3231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vYO9Q8b20Lw/V7sBcUlBsyI/AAAAAAAAFFg/qq4jotH9MKEQrivr0TyIVu4renT3XlOTwCLcB/s320/100_3231.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I finally added my word to the front of the book. I have always collected quotes and use them a lot in my work..so I thought it would be nice to have a little book to keep any new ones I find.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_T8MPlAAzYA/V7sBiNjdIlI/AAAAAAAAFFk/79wmlDyf524KUCHvEBewiVG_P2_y_w75gCLcB/s1600/100_3232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_T8MPlAAzYA/V7sBiNjdIlI/AAAAAAAAFFk/79wmlDyf524KUCHvEBewiVG_P2_y_w75gCLcB/s320/100_3232.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
If there is anything you need..papers, alphabets or embellishments then please get in touch with Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies..as I always say she has an Aladdin's cave of crafting goodies.<br />
I hope that I have explained it all clearly enough..but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.<br />
So until next week..take care and happy crafting.ravenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06862325071621469394noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5385309655241524244.post-13553548390251112632016-08-15T13:42:00.000+01:002016-08-15T13:42:22.357+01:00Design team make...The Loo Roll Book<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Hello everyone...Genny here. For today's design team make, I have created the loo roll book. I saw this book being made by the fabulous Rosemary Berry and just had to make it to share with you. Basically it is a tag book and you can make as many tag pockets as you wish. The empty toilet rolls form the tag pockets and the covers are made just using some grey board. I decided to make this to put pictures of my new kittens in, thinking that it would be a nice way to celebrate their first year. Of course there are so many ways that you could use this pocket book. Your grandchildren..perhaps a special day out or a birthday, your pets or even your garden through the year. It's a lovely way to scrapbook without having the expense.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
For next week, I shall be making another tag book but doing it step by step. So start saving your toilet roll cardboards now. I also have an idea for using your empty cardboards for making a snowflake decoration...which I will share at a later date.<br />
I am currently asking all my friends for their empty loo rolls in readiness for next week..lol. So until then..take care and happy crafting.<br />

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone..Genny here. I had every intention of blogging last week but sadly BT were not for letting me play. It seems to be one of the prices I have to pay for living in such a beautiful place. But finally here I am with a selection of Christmas Cards. Yes I know that it's only August but I like to think about it now and then I have plenty of time to decide what I'm going to do.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
All my cards today are from Hobby Art and I have chosen to work with them because they are such good quality for one and the other reason is that I love all these images. Cards 1 and 3 are from Daryl the Quirky turkey stamp set and they have a similar sense of humour to last years Baa Humbug set.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The card below is Otto the Owl and is a rubber stamp..which is another form of stamp that Hobby Art do. Equally as easy to use to get a brilliant image.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XNRWw95suqo/V6iGl2mRMoI/AAAAAAAAFAg/8lWBTvz2zyoRUIZHxym_JayvPHuUO-cTgCEw/s1600/100_3182.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XNRWw95suqo/V6iGl2mRMoI/AAAAAAAAFAg/8lWBTvz2zyoRUIZHxym_JayvPHuUO-cTgCEw/s320/100_3182.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vUwrBIBACGw/V6iGqI3k7dI/AAAAAAAAFAk/JefJITBngs4mJ6Dr4vIlCv2EBJ6C0g3eACEw/s1600/100_3183.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vUwrBIBACGw/V6iGqI3k7dI/AAAAAAAAFAk/JefJITBngs4mJ6Dr4vIlCv2EBJ6C0g3eACEw/s320/100_3183.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My final 4 cards are all from the Nature Trail stamp set. I just couldn't help and have a play with this set and as you can see from the four cards below, depending what colours you use and what elements you pick..each is different. For all the cards below, I have stamped onto watercolour card using my Versafine ink pad and coloured them using my Lyra watercolours. I used a white Pentouch pen to add the snowflakes and of course I just had to add some glitter..after all it will be Christmas..lol</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hello everyone...Genny here. I have called todays design team makes..one thought..5 projects because I began with the thought of doing a large mixed media canvas but ended up making 4 other projects and the original piece is only half way finished..lol. My first idea was to use lots of die cut and stamped flowers, painted with my H2Os..which gives them a lovely mica shimmer. I began by getting together lots of die cut flowers which I had cut using plain white paper. I then painted then all with different shades. As I was waiting for the flowers to dry I found two small canvasses and deiced to paint them using my acrylics. So for the first two projects, I added three flowers..using a black peeloff as the stem, and finally stamped a different sentiment on both.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KcLBszWR7zw/V5YPRrb8ARI/AAAAAAAAE74/bCy1jVUqmJUMfEreu1Ws0JQTr66p0t85ACEw/s1600/100_3173.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KcLBszWR7zw/V5YPRrb8ARI/AAAAAAAAE74/bCy1jVUqmJUMfEreu1Ws0JQTr66p0t85ACEw/s400/100_3173.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
The following two projects were a happy accident. When I'm painting with H2Os, I always work on a piece of paper. When I had finished painting the flowers, I looked at the way all the colours had mixed on the paper and loved the look of it. So I took a flower stamp and stamped the outline in black..and then cut them out. I mounted them onto a piece of white which had been mounted onto a piece of black card.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YuoQ57eNXk0/V5YPUI8c3tI/AAAAAAAAE78/JhYeimY6FNwVbiu0HOBgdcsZvLesDO9AQCEw/s1600/100_3174.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YuoQ57eNXk0/V5YPUI8c3tI/AAAAAAAAE78/JhYeimY6FNwVbiu0HOBgdcsZvLesDO9AQCEw/s400/100_3174.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nipMkOQkISI/V5YPb1g3K4I/AAAAAAAAE8A/hr9-mD9ckDcN2goimcFHGgUyqxdTX7hqACEw/s1600/100_3175.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nipMkOQkISI/V5YPb1g3K4I/AAAAAAAAE8A/hr9-mD9ckDcN2goimcFHGgUyqxdTX7hqACEw/s400/100_3175.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
And finally I actually began on my first idea..lol. I have painted a board with black acrylic and placed lots of flowers in opposite corners.I have added metal hearts, some jewels and some pearl dots. It isn't finished yet but I thought that I would share the work in progress. Hopefully next week I will be doing a piece on mixed media..so I will be able to share the finished piece then.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d230Fu985Gw/V5YPgroAdeI/AAAAAAAAE8E/i-0i-HoVq4ACjrD41Yiw7qXzXS9kUzvUwCEw/s1600/100_3171.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-d230Fu985Gw/V5YPgroAdeI/AAAAAAAAE8E/i-0i-HoVq4ACjrD41Yiw7qXzXS9kUzvUwCEw/s400/100_3171.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The one thing that I would recommend is that wherever you decide to work that the cats are banned from the area. I'm sure that my cats know as soon as the acrylics come out and cannot wait to dip their paws in it..hence I have now multi coloured paw prints over one of my armchairs..perhaps they fancied doing some mixed media of their own..lol. So untilnext week...take care and happy crafting.ravenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06862325071621469394noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5385309655241524244.post-5583714047323645002016-07-18T13:53:00.000+01:002016-07-18T13:53:35.058+01:00Design team make.....Birthday Teatime<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone...Genny here.For todays design team make I have used a stamp set from Hobby Art stamps called Teatime. It is a great stamp to create your own tea table. As everyone has seen lately..tea, china and old fashioned cloths have made a great comeback. For this card I stamped the cloth edging, teapot,jug,cups and cake stand with my Versafine inkpad. I then used my lyra watercolours to paint them. I also watercoloured the large cake and a collection of little cakes. The background was created by doing a watercolour wash onto a piece of watercolour paper. I mounted this onto a piece of pink backing card. Also from Hobby Art I used the verse and mounted that onto the same pink card. I finally added the two pieces of bunting which are from a Joanna Sheen Signature Die.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Following on from last weeks paper cutting make..I decided to do some thing different. I am lucky enough to be on the design team for Jiggery Makery. This is the team belonging to Adele, Julie's daughter. I decided to use one of her fabulous pin up digis and to create a piece of papercutting. I took the shape of the skirt and drew a design. I then cut it out and mounted it onto a piece of red paper.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RD3UDhLkHyE/V4zL9xs_fNI/AAAAAAAAE5g/RomXOfRmCDsQt84CB24VlL2U2_s6_uudwCEw/s1600/100_3167.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RD3UDhLkHyE/V4zL9xs_fNI/AAAAAAAAE5g/RomXOfRmCDsQt84CB24VlL2U2_s6_uudwCEw/s320/100_3167.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I really enjoyed making both these cards and after all, this is why we all craft. Nothing makes me relax more than to work on a card or canvas project. Any thing that you need craft wise..please get in touch with Julie..here at JB-Crafting Supplies.</div>

I hope that the weather is being kind to you, wherever you are. The sun is shining here in the mountains, so I can craft in peace because all my cats are outside, sunning themselves. Usually when I get my crafting goodies, they all arrive, wanting to help..lol. Well until next week..take care and happy crafting.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone...Genny here. For today's design team make, I have been taking a step into a whole new world..the world of paper cutting. I must admit to have loved the look of some paper cuts for quite a while. Suddenly last week I decided to give it go and thought that I would share my makes with you. Both of these designs are by a company called Paper Panda and there are books of various designs out there. What set me off was this picture of the unicorn. But for my very first paper cut I decided to go with the butterfly below.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GbGPtiUMlUM/V4Ob1GY-dbI/AAAAAAAAE28/2RZrQwKRiCYqnmxQIcY561KV9xEFwr0DwCKgB/s1600/100_3152.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GbGPtiUMlUM/V4Ob1GY-dbI/AAAAAAAAE28/2RZrQwKRiCYqnmxQIcY561KV9xEFwr0DwCKgB/s320/100_3152.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I intend doing another one of the butterfly now that I have got a bit more used to using a blade. It was a very quiet slow procedure..but I have to say it was quicker than I thought it would be..despite the ever helpful cats that decided to sit by my side as I was cutting. What I really loved was that basically you take a piece of paper, a craft knife, cutting mat and you end up with something lovely. I am already thinking of designing my own...which I will share with you in the next couple of weeks. So I was really pleased with my unicorn but no doubt , as I get more used to doing it..I will improve.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I love the idea of trying new crafts and then of course you can include them with all your other crafting makes. There is a lot of talk in the crafting world of mixed media work and I think that paper cutting could easily be included with other work. I hope that you like the paper cutting. For next week I will be doing some stamping inspired by watching a television show. So until then...take care and happy crafting.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone...Genny here. I always think to myself that I know what I'm going to be doing the next week and by the time that I get to this point ..many times I have created something different. As most of you know, most of the craft channels have been featuring Christmas products..far too early in my world..but I can understand that lots of us have to begin early in the year. I generally don't begin until August and I have several hundred to make. But due to all this Christmas television I ended up thinking of Christmas ideas. And I arrived at this card.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I began by painting some blue skies..using watercolour paper and my Lyra watercolours. I left the bottom white and created blue skies above it. I did about 5 A4 pieces. On one of them I stamped 4 Christmas trees, using my distress ink..Forest Moss.The stamp itself is a Hobby Art stamp..but you could use any Christmas tree one that you already have. I then cuts the trees out in a rectangle..placing the tree slightly on the left. I then mounted this rectangle onto some black card. I also mounted one of the plain backgrounds onto another piece of black card. I then went over both layers with a white ink pen and added snow falling and some snow onto the tree. I finally added some glitter and a ribbon.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
To my mind, this is the perfect card to batch make. You could make a huge pile of backgrounds really easily..yet the finished card is quite special.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I'm not even going to mention what I might be doing next week..my ideas well may change...but until then..take care and happy crafting.</div>

<img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Mq72FIrl7D4/V2fjga_1hzI/AAAAAAAAEwY/3RmQCclub5IDePBogQvuAHrBHvtAnQfjgCLcB/s320/100_3129.jpg" width="240" /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone ....Genny here. For todays design team make I have been playing with a stencil and trying different ways of using it. For the first make (above) I have stencilled onto black card. I first taped the stencil down and sponged through some white acrylic paint and let it dry. Then I went over it again,once dry with yellow,red and green acrylic. The white underneath made the colours really pop. It is important to not have too much paint on your sponge dabber..else it will flood under the stencil..as I found on my first attempt..lol. So put your dabber into the paint and then dab onto a spare piece of paper and then dab onto your stencil. The other important thing is to take your time and build up the colour bit by bit. When the stencilled image was dry, I went round the edges of the petals with a white pencil to give a little definition.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
On the cards below I used my distress inks but twp different methods of applying. For the first one I used a blending sponge and on the second I used a stencil brush.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-e__Mslt-1MY/V2fjixlk48I/AAAAAAAAEwg/UKhA4oJfRQohg_3A8YUt2b58i-Mj_bwyACKgB/s1600/100_3130.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-e__Mslt-1MY/V2fjixlk48I/AAAAAAAAEwg/UKhA4oJfRQohg_3A8YUt2b58i-Mj_bwyACKgB/s320/100_3130.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The distress inks I used were Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn and Spiced Marmalade.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6qCDkUvUy6c/V2fjlvwng8I/AAAAAAAAEwo/gbMqg-tegfEai-THBG3M5BM80XV3j9I6gCKgB/s1600/100_3131.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6qCDkUvUy6c/V2fjlvwng8I/AAAAAAAAEwo/gbMqg-tegfEai-THBG3M5BM80XV3j9I6gCKgB/s320/100_3131.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
As you can see, both the different methods produce a very different effect. The yellow flowered one, using a stencil brush, has a rougher texture than the blending sponge. It is important to keep your stencil brush upright and again to take your time, so that your bristles don't push under the stencil.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The blending sponge technique is my favourite. It gave a lot smoother impression and the colours looked a lot brighter. The final thing I did was edge the petals with a grey pencil and what that does is give the petals a little more definition and seems to make them pop off the page.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm hoping to use this stencil for another couple of techniques...shaving foam and texture paste. The texture paste I intend to make myself but for it to have a smoother texture than the one I used on the walling last week. I will share both techniques with you next week.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
As always, if you need anything for your crafting..just ask Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies. So until next week...take care and happy crafting.</div>

<br />
Hello everyone...Genny here. For this weeks design team makes I have been working with this fabulous stamp from Hobby Art. It is called Funky Chicken and is so much fun. Sometimes you just need to make a card that will raise a giggle or even just make some one smile..and these chickens certainly deliver. On all these cards, I made the backing paper by stamping the same pattern but in different colours.<br />
<br />
On the first card I used the 3 cockerals, stamped them with my memento inkpad and coloured them with my promarkers. Since I made this card, I thought what a great 'boys on the town' card.<br />
<br />
For my second card I just stamped the images into circles..looking from different ways and just thought it would make a great card to send a smile.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f6m8rLr84h8/V2AgaM1YtLI/AAAAAAAAEtk/l67aW05fjJA9dRdKpRbOZj10BfU64-f1QCLcB/s1600/100_3113.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-f6m8rLr84h8/V2AgaM1YtLI/AAAAAAAAEtk/l67aW05fjJA9dRdKpRbOZj10BfU64-f1QCLcB/s400/100_3113.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For my last card, I stamped the same chicken 3 times and coloured them differently..the same colours but in different areas. I added the sentiment 'don't flap'..another great card to send to a friend.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

I know from my own card making that sometimes you just need that cheeky card for a friend and I really think these funky chickens fit the well. I am hoping to have another play with them soon, as I keep thinking of different ways to use them. When I have the time to have another play..I will share them with you.</div>

I hope that the weather is being kind to you, wherever you are. Being a lady of a certain age, I have found the heat rather hard to deal with. So you will find me crafting in front of my fan..which guarantees fun when the glitter comes out..lol. The cats have discovered that in front of the fan is a good place to be..so I find that I have to share. So until next week...take care and happy crafting.</div>

<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GVtmt5xUeLE/V1WAjokbcpI/AAAAAAAAEqk/9vGDuziI14ME7QWQBpXXLXP0qLhiIhs4QCLcB/s1600/100_3106.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GVtmt5xUeLE/V1WAjokbcpI/AAAAAAAAEqk/9vGDuziI14ME7QWQBpXXLXP0qLhiIhs4QCLcB/s400/100_3106.jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone...Genny here. Today's make is a canvas using texture paste and I thought it would be good to share with you all. There are lots of different types of texture paste out there, all at various prices but I was talking to a friend and she said I am sure that you could make your own...so I did.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I wanted to make quite a course texture paste that I could use through a stencil that I had that looked like a stone wall. The recipe I used was 2 tablespoons of pva, 2 tablespoons of white acrylic paint, 2 tablespoons of talcum powder and some sand. I mixed them all together, adding the sand until it became a texture that I felt that I could use through the stencil. If it feels too thick, you can add a little water..by the same token if it feels too wet either add a little more sand or talcum. Then I placed my stencil onto a small canvas and applied the texture paste...as in the picture below.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xg0BlyxztIQ/V1WAb568bJI/AAAAAAAAEqU/6GXYeiJTFjcFSPW4p9gddgWX_wrWPQVWQCKgB/s1600/100_3104.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xg0BlyxztIQ/V1WAb568bJI/AAAAAAAAEqU/6GXYeiJTFjcFSPW4p9gddgWX_wrWPQVWQCKgB/s320/100_3104.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I then let it dry.. I let it dry overnight to ensure that it was thoroughly dry. Then I painted the whole canvas with some acrylic paint that I had mixed to a colour I wanted for my stone. You can alter this to suit what you want to do. You could paint it all white for example or if you had the patience you could paint the spaces between 'the stones' one colour and the stones themselves another. It all depends what effect you would like.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H1vf4NDbBVo/V1WAe-lqV6I/AAAAAAAAEqc/Sj-1BHe0OrkCkefKcobJHboxpvdWkQfIwCKgB/s1600/100_3105.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H1vf4NDbBVo/V1WAe-lqV6I/AAAAAAAAEqc/Sj-1BHe0OrkCkefKcobJHboxpvdWkQfIwCKgB/s320/100_3105.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
While the paint was drying, I stamped out some flowers and leaves and coloured them with my lyra watercolours. I then added them to the canvas. While I was playing about with my texture paste I also realised that if you just wanted the paste to be fine don't add any sand,just add more talcum powder. That will create a texture similar to a plaster finish but would also be good depending on the look you wanted. This would give you aa finish that you would be able to stamp into. The only thing that I would add is to say that it's vital that you clean everything thoroughly as soon as you've finished. I have a couple of bowls which I keep together for making the paste in and a spoon and spreader. Everything is kept together in a cupboard ready for the next time. I've also kept a jar of sand..when I asked my friend for a jar of sand he was intrigued to what I was going to do..lol</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GVtmt5xUeLE/V1WAjokbcpI/AAAAAAAAEqk/8s5rvADqx7sxYBdP_EErugH8BOm9gkzSQCKgB/s1600/100_3106.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GVtmt5xUeLE/V1WAjokbcpI/AAAAAAAAEqk/8s5rvADqx7sxYBdP_EErugH8BOm9gkzSQCKgB/s320/100_3106.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope that you like the finished project and that you will have a go at making your own texture paste. For anything you need or want, please pop over to speak to Julie. I know that she stocks some brilliant acrylic paints in case you need any. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.</div>

<br />
Hello everyone...Genny here. For today's design team make I thought I would share this card with you. I have made it over the weekend for a friend and really enjoyed making it. To begin I made an 8x8 gatefold card. I created 2 panels for the front and two for the inside of the panels.I cut the panels with a deckle edge and then inked them in a mixture of pinks and lilacs. I found the two flower sets in my stash, which had a matching mandela stamp. I stamped an absolute load of them, then coloured them with my promarkers and finally cut them all out. I have to say that it was all very calm whilst cutting..NCIS was on the television and all the cats were out in the evening sun. Normally they do love to help..lol<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zZdXWf-2xUQ/V02d5n6biuI/AAAAAAAAEm4/HfD2vnx23DkMoWxV7IJgoZQT6dNdnk9NACLcB/s1600/31st%2BMay%2B007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zZdXWf-2xUQ/V02d5n6biuI/AAAAAAAAEm4/HfD2vnx23DkMoWxV7IJgoZQT6dNdnk9NACLcB/s320/31st%2BMay%2B007.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
For the middle back panel, I found this silhouette image in my stash and thought it would make a great focal point as my friend is into dancing.I mounted that onto some rainbow card to match in with all the other colours.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-28qI_FXivqI/V02d8o7AHSI/AAAAAAAAEm8/mb23xD-E6E0PjYuqRT1wabhSQbwlYQ0GwCLcB/s1600/31st%2BMay%2B008.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-28qI_FXivqI/V02d8o7AHSI/AAAAAAAAEm8/mb23xD-E6E0PjYuqRT1wabhSQbwlYQ0GwCLcB/s320/31st%2BMay%2B008.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
The side panels are decorated with yet more of the flowers. And finally the back panel.I coloured that again with my inks and created an oval..so that I had some where to write. Stupid as I am, I had written it before I photographed..hence the blue piece of card. I left the inside of the oval clear but edged it with a small leaf tapestry stamp. I finally added 3 more flowers to the side.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y5Ikqwe7HfQ/V02d_6s7qxI/AAAAAAAAEnA/Zrjwpl5Rb3g6UVs1hCb8pRlAir5dA3agQCLcB/s1600/31st%2BMay%2B009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-y5Ikqwe7HfQ/V02d_6s7qxI/AAAAAAAAEnA/Zrjwpl5Rb3g6UVs1hCb8pRlAir5dA3agQCLcB/s320/31st%2BMay%2B009.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I really enjoyed making this card. All over the place you can read about mindful crafting. A quiet space where you just concentrate on what you are creating. I think that this card must fit the bill. Even with all the cutting out..it was all very calm. So why not look at what flower stamps you have and create something similar. I would love to see what you can create. For any of your crafting needs or wants..just pop over to Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies and she will help.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well I'm off to do some more crafting..I think some more colouring is called for. Next week I will be sharing some stencilling and using some texture paste. So until then...take care and happy crafting.</div>

<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HRk0i0XBubo/V0RGbp7IvqI/AAAAAAAAEk8/nD2deuySqYMU4KzFXPI1Xan-h49VqUsmACLcB/s1600/24th%2BMay%2B001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HRk0i0XBubo/V0RGbp7IvqI/AAAAAAAAEk8/nD2deuySqYMU4KzFXPI1Xan-h49VqUsmACLcB/s320/24th%2BMay%2B001.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
Hello everyone...Genny here. For today's design team makes, I have been playing. I began by getting my inks out and like I said had a play. I messed about mixing different colours on a piece of paper and blending them. On some, I worked on glossy card and some on ordinary paper. My thought process was what could I make just using inks and paper and a few stamps.<br />
<br />
For the card above, I used different shades of green...actually doing a whole piece of A4..then added a little brown. I didn't concentrate on what was happening on the paper as a whole, just on getting a nice mix of colours. Then I cut out a panel and mounted it onto some black card. This I matted onto some brown card onto which I had layered some cream card. I then stamped some butterflies and coloured them with my promarkers. I finally added some jewels at the top and bottom corners.<br />
<br />
For the card below..I really did have a play. I used my distress ink in a pink shade and inked onto some bubble wrap. I then used this as a stamp onto some cream card. I then used my blending brush to add some more pink on the edges. This I mounted onto some cream card, which itself had been layered onto some pink. I then stamped a butterfly again but this time coloured it with pastel colours, again using my promarkers. I then added a shower of tiny flowers. In my mind the butterfly is leaving a trail of flowers..lol<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u2Dg0TukGUk/V0RGdtl24bI/AAAAAAAAElA/Z9jLWCfpmiIvr1NXOqr6pQn8vqpQ6EL8QCLcB/s1600/24th%2BMay%2B002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-u2Dg0TukGUk/V0RGdtl24bI/AAAAAAAAElA/Z9jLWCfpmiIvr1NXOqr6pQn8vqpQ6EL8QCLcB/s320/24th%2BMay%2B002.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
For my next card, I began by screwing up a piece of paper and then again coloured it using my distress inks in shades of green. I then added some gold mica powder whilst it was still damp. It doesn't show that well in the photo but there is a gold shimmer in real life. I then cut a square out and stamped the silhouette onto it. I then mounted it onto some black card.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/--uJYjahVk7E/V0RGgqDcGlI/AAAAAAAAElE/K2Oxxq0PMNcNy3HiOcZpjh3d67hx6cV0ACLcB/s1600/24th%2BMay%2B003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/--uJYjahVk7E/V0RGgqDcGlI/AAAAAAAAElE/K2Oxxq0PMNcNy3HiOcZpjh3d67hx6cV0ACLcB/s320/24th%2BMay%2B003.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
For my final card..I began with a piece of glossy card to which I added my inks to. I also sprayed some silver ink over the top. I then cut out the inch squares using a punch..which I admit to having for about 10 years but had never used..lol. I stamped over the square using a corner stamp which I kept moving round, so it covered the square. I mounted these squares onto black again, as it does seem to make it all stand out. These squares I added to the card and added a greeting.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bIKiJ4yPoR8/V0RGlBiHwCI/AAAAAAAAElI/buB0dwflhX0giG_HSJKwepMzwSe-5cyXACLcB/s1600/24th%2BMay%2B005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bIKiJ4yPoR8/V0RGlBiHwCI/AAAAAAAAElI/buB0dwflhX0giG_HSJKwepMzwSe-5cyXACLcB/s320/24th%2BMay%2B005.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope that you like all my playing. That is what it is all about. I would encourage you to take an afternoon and have a play of your own. Take some paper and your inks and just play. Don't think about the end result..just get mixing your colours. Screwing up your paper and then flattening it before inking gives a lovely effect. Add some metallic sprays or some mica powders. The fun is extended when you sit back and look at what you've created and pick out what areas you want to use for your card. As it stands now, I still have the rest of 4 A4 papers to use in the future.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Anything that you need or want for your crafting is available from Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies. As I always say, she does have an Aladdin's cave of crafting goodies. I must also apologise for not posting yesterday but thanks to BT I couldn't even get online..lol. Today everything is fine..thank goodness. So until next week..take care and happy crafting.</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hello everyone...Genny here. For this weeks design team makes, I decided to have a play and use silhouette stamps and some stamp board. For all my backgrounds I have used a glossy card and have created them using my dusting brushes and my distress inks. One thing that I hope comes across is the variety of backgrounds that you can make just by changing the colours that you use. For the card above, I created the background, let it dry and then stamped the silhouette using my versafine inkpad. I also stamped onto some acetate using my stazon inkpad..a butterfly..which I coloured with my promarkers and then cut out. I finally added it to the card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the card below..I created a background and then stamped the scene onto it. I then mounted it onto black and white to highlight the image.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6f7KKIyvCro/Vzm4fQ1d-II/AAAAAAAAEig/2Gb8eYAZCaEoxX4rsT6UY8vZQ1knLpO1ACLcB/s1600/16th%2BMay%2B005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6f7KKIyvCro/Vzm4fQ1d-II/AAAAAAAAEig/2Gb8eYAZCaEoxX4rsT6UY8vZQ1knLpO1ACLcB/s320/16th%2BMay%2B005.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The three cards below are using exactly the same images and sentiment but all have different colour backgrounds. I did this just to show you how the colours make each card different and suitable for different projects. I think the plain black and white image would make a very dramatic card.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xihPAwk5zt4/Vzm4j6Tq6wI/AAAAAAAAEik/TI8iCjTcvzwgtF3VvEB_SFuIEgAn_EK4wCLcB/s1600/16th%2BMay%2B007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xihPAwk5zt4/Vzm4j6Tq6wI/AAAAAAAAEik/TI8iCjTcvzwgtF3VvEB_SFuIEgAn_EK4wCLcB/s320/16th%2BMay%2B007.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4DyzKrVB4-4/Vzm4mjikQXI/AAAAAAAAEio/72pZHiHO_Bc07bCKqQFdgdaOePoWLAizACLcB/s1600/16th%2BMay%2B006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4DyzKrVB4-4/Vzm4mjikQXI/AAAAAAAAEio/72pZHiHO_Bc07bCKqQFdgdaOePoWLAizACLcB/s320/16th%2BMay%2B006.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4WY2IHG4i-E/Vzm4qq6SaUI/AAAAAAAAEis/X8Iq3QTCReIkz990ZLD-vwFatdKpy8ToACLcB/s1600/16th%2BMay%2B008.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4WY2IHG4i-E/Vzm4qq6SaUI/AAAAAAAAEis/X8Iq3QTCReIkz990ZLD-vwFatdKpy8ToACLcB/s320/16th%2BMay%2B008.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And while I as having a play, I came across some stampboard in my stash. A few years ago, stampboard was everywhere and then all of a sudden seemed to disappear. Well now it is back and seems to be a lot cheaper than it used be. I had forgotten just how much I loved working with it. One of the things that I adore about stampboard is the clean definition that it gives to whatever stamp you decide to use.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VMiaLsAIJIw/Vzm4uB6NsTI/AAAAAAAAEiw/BkmzB2A6HHUJbj7Lvk_Ftj3YY_GwbFIYwCLcB/s1600/16th%2BMay%2B010.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VMiaLsAIJIw/Vzm4uB6NsTI/AAAAAAAAEiw/BkmzB2A6HHUJbj7Lvk_Ftj3YY_GwbFIYwCLcB/s320/16th%2BMay%2B010.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
For my first make, I created a keyring. I stamped the sentiment on it and doodles around it. I then wired some beads to it. It takes the ink really well..using the pen, I thought to myself that I could zentangle onto it..watch this space..I will share it with you next week. I am also in progress of making a bracelet..it is drying at the moment. So that will come next week as well.<br />
<br />
The tiny door hanger below was made using stampboard. I first coloured the stampboard with my distress inks and then stamped the words onto it. I then created a little hanger and joined the pieces using some beads and wire, What I did discover that my cropodile makes the holes in the stamp board really easily.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CF1GkE0DuDg/Vzm4xwCSO1I/AAAAAAAAEi0/e4hKe5lHx2oGIbRQ9orl3Bs0JSn1IBdiACLcB/s1600/16th%2BMay%2B011.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CF1GkE0DuDg/Vzm4xwCSO1I/AAAAAAAAEi0/e4hKe5lHx2oGIbRQ9orl3Bs0JSn1IBdiACLcB/s320/16th%2BMay%2B011.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This final piece is a work in progress. I stamped onto the stampboard using my memento inkpad and then simply coloured it in with my promarkers. I have yet to decide what I'm going to turn this into.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AV1fBWYjk7c/Vzm42KgzBbI/AAAAAAAAEi8/N4IBNau4CvoR7Tjjx-gmd5yF5W3ZKuTRACLcB/s1600/16th%2BMay%2B012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AV1fBWYjk7c/Vzm42KgzBbI/AAAAAAAAEi8/N4IBNau4CvoR7Tjjx-gmd5yF5W3ZKuTRACLcB/s320/16th%2BMay%2B012.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
One thing that I have been asked about a lot is what inkpad to use when using different mediums...so I thought that I would jot a few down for you all.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Memento Ink pads.....I use this for any alcohol pen work..promarkers, copics,spectrum noirs etc.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Versafine Inkpads...I use this for any image I wanted to watercolour or use any waterbased colours with.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Staz on Inkpads...I use this for glass, acetate and any other non porous projects</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Versa mark Inkpads...I use this for any projects that I want to use embossing powders on. Also there is the Perfect Medium inkpad that you can use for embossing.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope that, that helps you a bit. As always should you have any questions about any project that I've made..please don't hesitate..just ask and I will be more than happy to help. Any thing you need for your crafting..just ask Julie here at JB-Crafting supplies.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

Hello everyone..Genny here. I must apologise..this weeks make should have been last weeks but BT decided that the village could do without internet for the most of 3 days and have given us an intermittent service since. It drives us all crazy..they know our service is going off but never think to let anyone know. Anyway here I am, catching up. For my design team make I have been lucky enough to work with this fabulous kit from Pinflair. All instructions are included. You will need to add your own choice of material, book binding glue. I also used some sellotape to hold things in place when I had run out of the paper. I have to say that was my own fault for not paying attention to what I was doing..as a cat fight set off. So I took everything apart and did it properly using my sellotape. I should have taken my own previous advice and shut the cats out of the room..lol.<br />

<br />
I didn't have a suitable handle for the box and due to the way I'm having trouble with my hands..I really needed something I could get hold of...so I fiddled about and made one. I had a lonely large button in my stash which I have always loved the look of. I took some of my jewellery wire and threaded it through the button and then added some beads..so it went button, bead, box drawer and then I secured the wire on the inside of the drawer. It has worked very well and has given me something substantial to hold on to.<br />

<br />
Hello everyone ..Genny here. For today's design team makes I have been working with another set of Hobby Art Stamps.This set is called Cockadoodledo and makes some lovely country themed cards.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OgarNkSvUkA/Vx4CtX2K2HI/AAAAAAAAEbo/lPmmUkr2b6QSNe2hIVBM3gqftgc_f0KTgCLcB/s1600/13th%2BApril%2B001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OgarNkSvUkA/Vx4CtX2K2HI/AAAAAAAAEbo/lPmmUkr2b6QSNe2hIVBM3gqftgc_f0KTgCLcB/s400/13th%2BApril%2B001.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
What I really love about this set is the fact that you can also build a country side image as well as the cockerel, hen and chick. You also get the stamp that enables you to create the chicken wire..which will be so handy in lots of my mixed media work.The chicken wire stamp comes in two different sizes and is really easy to join..so you can make a fence as small or as large as you need. All the sentiments that I have used are also from a Hobby Art set. For both of these cards, I have used my watercolours...but you could use any of your colouring mediums. If you have any of the Hobby Art scenic sets..you could also use them to extend your countryside views. I stamped all the images using my Versafine inkpad..but if I was going to use my promarkers or copics, then I would always use my Memento inkpad.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I had great fun colouring the cockerel. He reminded me of a cockerel that my Grandmother had when I was a little girl. This particular cockerel seemed to me to be enormous and goodness me he had a bad temper. I can remember the fantastic colours that he had...most of all I can remember the sun shining on his tail feathers and the colours contained there. To try and describe it is just too hard but it was a cross between blue and green with all the colours between.I was always fascinated by the colours and always wanted to see him..but he wasn't impressed with little girls and would chase me the length of the yard.If you can imagine a chubby little girl in a flowery dress and wellies running for her life...that was me..lol</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to answer. Hello everyone...Genny here. Today for my design team makes this week, I am lucky enough to work with this set from Hobby Art Stamps....Garden Birds. If you would like to buy this set..please get in touch with Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies. In fact anything that you need, Julie is the person to source it for you. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PLjcuEb2u_Y/VxTiZ3c0v7I/AAAAAAAAEYA/Vu7oR6NihWw7JD6ZAuaJm5iX42EEwQulgCLcB/s1600/13th%2BApril%2B004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PLjcuEb2u_Y/VxTiZ3c0v7I/AAAAAAAAEYA/Vu7oR6NihWw7JD6ZAuaJm5iX42EEwQulgCLcB/s320/13th%2BApril%2B004.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
For all these cards, I stamped all the birds with my Versafine inkpad because I knew that I wanted to use my watercolours..and Versafine is what I use with them. If I had wanted to colour the images with my promarkers or any of my alcohol pens, I would always use a Memento ink pad.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LNLJS0cFFSY/VxTibKs5sHI/AAAAAAAAEYE/BP1LHWDX_esUPDuSW9IY4Osq3fQcmDJ7wCKgB/s1600/13th%2BApril%2B005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LNLJS0cFFSY/VxTibKs5sHI/AAAAAAAAEYE/BP1LHWDX_esUPDuSW9IY4Osq3fQcmDJ7wCKgB/s320/13th%2BApril%2B005.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The top two cards feature a coal tit and a great tit and below is a blue tit. I admit to not knowing many birds but I had a great reference book..so I could try to get the colours right. I thoroughly enjoyed working with these stamps and if like me you have lots of friends who bird watch either out and about or just at their own bird tables..these cards would be perfect to use for them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PqlxenmO8YM/VxTid-Tj-PI/AAAAAAAAEYI/rHhSloD3LwwpnBUqywghRFI2RW5VnfXPgCKgB/s1600/13th%2BApril%2B006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PqlxenmO8YM/VxTid-Tj-PI/AAAAAAAAEYI/rHhSloD3LwwpnBUqywghRFI2RW5VnfXPgCKgB/s320/13th%2BApril%2B006.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
What I also wanted to do but just didn't have the time..was to create some really funky coloured birds, alongside some funny quotes. I will try and make a couple for next week..just to show you a different way of using them. On the stamp set itself, you get 3 different birds, the flowers and some branches and leaves. I just love Hobby Art Stamps because they always stamp so well and combine really well .I was also thinking with some of the Hobby Art 'scenic stamps', you could easily make a scenic background and put the bird at the front. I may have to have a go at that as well.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope that you like the cards and get a little inspiration. For any of your crafting needs..just ask Julie. If there is ever anything that you would like me to feature in any future blogs..just get in touch and I will try my hardest to do it. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.</div>

<br />
Hello everyone...Genny here. For todays design team make,I was lucky enough to work with this Pinflair Tissue Box cover. This is the third Pinflair kit I have made recently and I have to say that I love them. Julie, here at JB-Crafting Supplies has all the kits available, as well as a fantastic rangeof material...you're sure to find one that one that will fit in with your personal taste. I have chosen to work with this material that is covered in strawberries.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FWtfIYhxtJs/VwuBdGGEvyI/AAAAAAAAEVo/cRSo-K8qarcG02nefRq-e4qAQPy_aiQ_Q/s1600/11th%2BApril%2B002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FWtfIYhxtJs/VwuBdGGEvyI/AAAAAAAAEVo/cRSo-K8qarcG02nefRq-e4qAQPy_aiQ_Q/s320/11th%2BApril%2B002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The kit itself comes with full instructions but I did notice one thing that wasn't mentioned and I have tosay that because it wasn't made clear, I ended up taking it to pieces and starting again.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iPy2OST7BxM/VwuBgRCyqyI/AAAAAAAAEVs/EnRv9rMd_NsjOyfzoVwLg24fpoH_zmjGA/s1600/11th%2BApril%2B003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-iPy2OST7BxM/VwuBgRCyqyI/AAAAAAAAEVs/EnRv9rMd_NsjOyfzoVwLg24fpoH_zmjGA/s320/11th%2BApril%2B003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
To ensure that the top fits correctly on top..you need to ensure that the short endsare attached to the inside of the long lengths..hopefully the pictures above and below make this clear.If you don't do this..the top will not fit neatly<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-py1Zt7tC4/VwuBhTBAnDI/AAAAAAAAEVw/3I4nERp5_PgNw-Frqehl5NpIroPCI4tKw/s1600/11th%2BApril%2B006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-l-py1Zt7tC4/VwuBhTBAnDI/AAAAAAAAEVw/3I4nERp5_PgNw-Frqehl5NpIroPCI4tKw/s320/11th%2BApril%2B006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
When they are in place properly... the lid part of the box fits perfectly. Because I had to take it apart again..I had run out of the gummed paper..so I used cellotape and it was fine. I added quite a bit of sellotape to fix everything securely.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-izEpJ-XK8LI/VwuBjgIJjnI/AAAAAAAAEV0/DfL_Td84ICQwYFBEjN-nVfQ2LC-mHUrAA/s1600/11th%2BApril%2B007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-izEpJ-XK8LI/VwuBjgIJjnI/AAAAAAAAEV0/DfL_Td84ICQwYFBEjN-nVfQ2LC-mHUrAA/s320/11th%2BApril%2B007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I covered the top with a piece of the material. It is best to take your time gluing around the hole at the top. I cut through the material and made little cuts around the inside edge to ensure that I could get a smooth finish around the hole.One thing that I did think was that if I was making this as a gift, I would line the inside of the top..just to make it extra tidy. And thinking on this, I would use the top as a template and fix that in place to hide the stickings from the top. It doesn't need to be done but that's just a personal touch I would add if it was going to be a gift. And as far as I can tell..it would take just a little extra fabric. If you were using the Pinflair fabric as I did..there is more than enough spare to do it. In fact I have a little piece left..which I will be working with in the next couple of weeks to match in with the tissue box.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8kwWf8Ijk9M/VwuBnBVYmKI/AAAAAAAAEV4/G7Lkj2sk1vMAFLOQWNz5W8CycXZFiqmAA/s1600/11th%2BApril%2B008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8kwWf8Ijk9M/VwuBnBVYmKI/AAAAAAAAEV4/G7Lkj2sk1vMAFLOQWNz5W8CycXZFiqmAA/s320/11th%2BApril%2B008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is the finished item. I am so pleased with it and hope you will take a look at all the wonderful kits that Julie has available. They can easily be made in an afternoon and are a pleasure to make.<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone..Genny here. I wanted to share my two makes with you this week. The first one is a plaque that I have made using a MDF blank. I kept seeing these words on lots of home decor items and thought..I could do that..lol. I first began with the blank plaque and painted it with some light green acrylic paint. I then added some torn papers..the paper was from a pad from the selection here at JB-Crafting Supplies. I then inked the edges with distress ink in a green..I do have a bit of a thing for green..as I'm sure you all know by now..lol. The letters that I used on the plaque were from an alphabet that I've had lurking in my stash for a couple of years..but I'm sure that Julie could source some for you. I finally added some die cut flowers from my stash. If you don't have a diecutting machine you can of course make your own flowers in any way you like. There are lots of templates out there...looking through my stash, I have a few that I had totally forgotten about. I'm going to put this plaque on the wall in my parlour.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
And now for my second make...I just had to share the story with you all. The picture is of a cushion cover that has only taken 40 years to finish. My Grandmother began this in the 1960's and I can remember her sitting sewing it. Sadly my Grandmother died in the 70's and all her embroidery got packed away..boxes of half finished projects. Now my Mother was a hoarder and all the boxes of embroidery and sewing moved house with her about 5 times. She passed away in 2004 and I had the job of sorting all her belongings and I moved the boxes to my house. Well I decided that the time had come to go through the final boxes that had been in my loft for the last 12 years. I went through the remaining boxes and came upon the box of my Grandmothers sewing. I had to smile..there was pieces of Crimplene..the wonder fabric of the 60's and 70's..and they are so in trend now..lol. The colours are as vibrant as ever..I may even make a top up using some of it. I also found lots of rolls of daisy edging and rick rack edging..I can remember it on my dresses. Then I dug deeper and found this cushion cover..half finished but with all the threads still in the bag. So I finished it and it's now about to sit on my couch. You can tell where I've stitched because the thread edges can be seen..where as where my Grandmother had stitched they have sort of blended. But as I look at it..it takes me back to the days when I was a little girl, sitting talking to my Grandmother whilst she stitched. Happy memories. So if you have anything that has been sitting around for a while, I would encourage you to finish it.</div>

<br />
Hello everyone...Genny here. Well I had it all planned to share a patchwork block with you all today..and then real life came into plan and I had to change my thoughts. I was all set to do some sewing and then I wasn't very well..so I decided to make this Victorian sewing box, as it meant I could sit in my chair with my legs up. That's one of the things that I love about crafting..if you can't do one thing because of the way you feel...there is always something else you can do.<br />
<br />
I had been sent this fabulous kit by Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies..so I decided to give it a go...and I loved it. To make it you will need the kit, material of your choice, bookbinding glue, some ribbon to match and some wadding if you choose to use it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LLEU1Ggko-s/Vua-ziKLI4I/AAAAAAAAENg/InfeV01PdrwxNaCVQMKRWeKtrqllc3IPA/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LLEU1Ggko-s/Vua-ziKLI4I/AAAAAAAAENg/InfeV01PdrwxNaCVQMKRWeKtrqllc3IPA/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KNF6gfgH74Y/Vua-4fHd5_I/AAAAAAAAENk/uhgX_X1fGow8zNO9lWREhUroL5YhssVlA/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KNF6gfgH74Y/Vua-4fHd5_I/AAAAAAAAENk/uhgX_X1fGow8zNO9lWREhUroL5YhssVlA/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
The material that I've used is available from Julie. I had some green ribbon in my stash and I had some bookbinding glue left from the last kit I made..The box with 1001 uses...which is now in my bedroom keeping my rings safe from the cats..lol..and I have to say it's working really well and looks delightful.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tKfROQwSewQ/Vua-7ysWxHI/AAAAAAAAENo/ln4Ktu7g7wwW0pfReQKsdqC_VyXswGqsQ/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tKfROQwSewQ/Vua-7ysWxHI/AAAAAAAAENo/ln4Ktu7g7wwW0pfReQKsdqC_VyXswGqsQ/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HHgAm4Pa6qM/Vua-9NzugLI/AAAAAAAAENs/XKImJzuy2ZEWJZ_vLyMGA4P6ODvijGTtg/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HHgAm4Pa6qM/Vua-9NzugLI/AAAAAAAAENs/XKImJzuy2ZEWJZ_vLyMGA4P6ODvijGTtg/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
There are full instructions in the kit. I would recommend reading through them a couple of times and getting to know which pieces are to be put together.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C_RDX9GlSV0/Vua_Er3aDtI/AAAAAAAAENw/J_GhJRZcVDUM3BVYr3rmEswn60PnIraYA/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C_RDX9GlSV0/Vua_Er3aDtI/AAAAAAAAENw/J_GhJRZcVDUM3BVYr3rmEswn60PnIraYA/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JdzqLMq3GXM/Vua_LNwBkoI/AAAAAAAAEN4/atrr_VLuf40suKMu-gTdRM6DltzYFLOQQ/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JdzqLMq3GXM/Vua_LNwBkoI/AAAAAAAAEN4/atrr_VLuf40suKMu-gTdRM6DltzYFLOQQ/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
On the pieces that hold the ribbon, I have used some wadding.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8ULbWYdOuoY/Vua_Hh12PII/AAAAAAAAEN0/K7yBQveCBf0rGEAs1WCFHKcZ17YefFuWg/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8ULbWYdOuoY/Vua_Hh12PII/AAAAAAAAEN0/K7yBQveCBf0rGEAs1WCFHKcZ17YefFuWg/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
On the lid, I have put double wadding, so the top can be used as a pincushion.In fact I have had a couple of requests for one of these boxes already. I think it so handy, having one of these..you can keep everything in here to do a quick repair. A couple of small reels of thread..perhaps black and white, a small pair of scissors,some needles, a thimble..all will fit in..oh and a couple of safety pins..so handy..and you can never find one when you need one..lol<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XaeRAn7em48/Vua_M_J5fDI/AAAAAAAAEN8/W7chT1rk9kw8fjkScIIZyropf_uKWdlHw/s1600/14th%2BMarch%2B010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XaeRAn7em48/Vua_M_J5fDI/AAAAAAAAEN8/W7chT1rk9kw8fjkScIIZyropf_uKWdlHw/s320/14th%2BMarch%2B010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I am so happy with the way that it turned out. I'm thinking that I may make a couple of these for presents..it's so nice the way that it all closes into a neat box.And of course, you can make it using whatever material you think that the recipient would like..Julie has a fabulous range.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So hopefully next week I will get to share my patchwork block with you all.So until then..take care and happy crafting</div>

Hello everyone...Genny here. For today's project, I have worked with this fantastic kit from Pinflair, with is available to buy from Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies. To go with this kit, you need to buy your chosen material..mine came from Julie...she has a wonderful variety available..you're sure to find one that you love. You will also need some of the bookbinding glue. I would also advise to have either a ruler or measuring tape that covers centimetres. I also used a glue spreader, as I found it a lot easier to apply the glue. My first advice would be..if you have any cats...put them out of the room..lol..my tribe thought it was great fun to fiddle about once the tub of wet glue was unlidded..it was a very nerve wrecking time. Below are the photographs following my progress<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a5cVvG5os-k/Vt2BezaexMI/AAAAAAAAEKY/C5yyqnaZCXY/s1600/7th%2BMarch%2B001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a5cVvG5os-k/Vt2BezaexMI/AAAAAAAAEKY/C5yyqnaZCXY/s320/7th%2BMarch%2B001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V4Qe4UOE6pQ/Vt2Bl7nktiI/AAAAAAAAEKk/SoFjwtTqeIo/s1600/7th%2BMarch%2B005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V4Qe4UOE6pQ/Vt2Bl7nktiI/AAAAAAAAEKk/SoFjwtTqeIo/s320/7th%2BMarch%2B005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
One of the things that I did differently was to add the bottom lining of the fabric to the draw before I taped the sides up...it seemed to give me a neater finish..but that is just a personal preference.<br />
On the instructions it gives you the size to cut the fabric in readiness for covering the drawer...40cms x 8cms. I think that if I made another one, I would have cut it to 40cms x 9cms..just to give me a bit more wiggle room..and you cut any excess off anyway<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xB2O4apBwUI/Vt2Bp8JboFI/AAAAAAAAEKo/qAdUdEI7ej4/s1600/7th%2BMarch%2B006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xB2O4apBwUI/Vt2Bp8JboFI/AAAAAAAAEKo/qAdUdEI7ej4/s320/7th%2BMarch%2B006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Below are pictures of the finished project. I am so pleased with it. I'm going to use it to keep my ring collection in. At the moment all my rings are in a bowl on my dressing table..the kittens seem to think that they are there to play with..lol. Well with this box..once you but the lid on..everything is safely closed away.<br />

This was great fun to make and I completed it in an afternoon...despite the feline help. It would make a great present..just think who you could make it for and what colours they would like.</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone..Genny here. I have so much to share with you over the next few weeks...some wonderful kits from Pinflair, some patchwork and some home decor makes..all available from Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies. I feel so lucky with all the selection of wonderful things that I'm getting to work with. So please keep your eyes on the blog to see the makes that are coming up.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
For today's card I have concentrated on using my glitter glue. I thought to myself the other day that I have a huge selection of glitter..both wet and dry..and I thought that I wasn't using it as much as I could in every day crafting. I began by stamping 5 flower heads out and coloured then all with just 3 promarkers..red, gold and bright orange. I then used 2 of my Stickles..yellow and marmalade and added them to the flower heads. It was surprising what a colour range you can get depending on which colour you added the glitter to. I let them dry and then cut out the flowerheads. I added some stalks and leaves. I mounted the flowers onto a piece of dark green card..so that the colours will pop. I mounted that piece of card onto another piece of card that I had painted with a metallic orange acrylic.I am now still playing with the flowers for some more makes..I've now got to thinking that this would be a good make in some other sets of colours..I'm thinking of doing some in purples and pinks..I will share them with you when I've finished them..just so you can see the difference that using other colours can make. In particular I'm thinking of doing the purples for a friends birthday, as they are her favourite colours.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
For next weeks blog, I will share a pinflair kit, which is available to buy from Julie. My make from last week..the fairy hanging pocket is now in place and managing to keep my scarves safe from the kittens. The kit for that is also available from Julie..it would make a lovely gift for any young girl..or even any older girl who just love all thing pink...like me..lol</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I hope that you all have a great week and get time to yourself to do some crafting. So until next week...take care and happy crafting</div>

<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J3x4H0RP4RE/Vssk02rl22I/AAAAAAAAEFA/rryOKIZfOMs/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J3x4H0RP4RE/Vssk02rl22I/AAAAAAAAEFA/rryOKIZfOMs/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B017.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
Hello everyone...Genny here.I am so excited as this is my first design team make featuring sewing.Over the years, I have done a lot of sewing, but hadn't done any for a while.And then over the last year, the more I saw of Julies sewing projects, the more I was twitching to get my machine out.<br />
<br />
So here I am with my first project.I thought it would be nice to go through it , step by step. Of course, the sheet itself has instructions printed onto it. But as usual I tend to do things a little differently..lol<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j4mZiWMrMOQ/Vssk5ZnynlI/AAAAAAAAEFE/kCJ4K7bbATk/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j4mZiWMrMOQ/Vssk5ZnynlI/AAAAAAAAEFE/kCJ4K7bbATk/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I first cut the pieces out. The whole project is in one piece and is available from Julie. To go with the material piece, all you need is a piece of backing material to match the project (I have used some pink spotty fabric), some wadding to go between the pieces (the front and the back) and some interfacing to use on the back of the pockets.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D0oh5ge0f4k/Vssk8e6rseI/AAAAAAAAEFI/_ZDOtEECCRQ/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D0oh5ge0f4k/Vssk8e6rseI/AAAAAAAAEFI/_ZDOtEECCRQ/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I ironed the fabric and ironed what would be the hem. To my mind just ironing what is going to be a hem makes things so much easier.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TwsFuyuHqdQ/VsslDsUWx6I/AAAAAAAAEFM/QXDzkRoa3ZQ/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TwsFuyuHqdQ/VsslDsUWx6I/AAAAAAAAEFM/QXDzkRoa3ZQ/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I then ironed the interfacing onto the pocket strips and then pressed the top edge of the pockets.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r443b9U4w9s/VsslFeXTpBI/AAAAAAAAEFQ/mw8o97hiK5U/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-r443b9U4w9s/VsslFeXTpBI/AAAAAAAAEFQ/mw8o97hiK5U/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Then stitched to pocket top (above) and then pressed the pocket lengths to give the definition to the box pleats.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8J9azq8ujbY/VsslFZ29vRI/AAAAAAAAEFU/op45T7J12A8/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8J9azq8ujbY/VsslFZ29vRI/AAAAAAAAEFU/op45T7J12A8/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ppsRTMEA7bU/VsslIIkUnDI/AAAAAAAAEFY/F8HxOkK_xpM/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ppsRTMEA7bU/VsslIIkUnDI/AAAAAAAAEFY/F8HxOkK_xpM/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Matched up the dotted lines to their corresponding lines on the full picture.And then stitched them. This is the major area where I did it differently to the instructions, mainly because it made it easier for me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DsxgwHSUwMM/VsslX0I78GI/AAAAAAAAEFc/JFwFAytwX30/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DsxgwHSUwMM/VsslX0I78GI/AAAAAAAAEFc/JFwFAytwX30/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Whilst I was stitching the dotted lines, I also stitched into place the ends of each pocket row,<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-chRfyetCU1g/VsslbVTMbaI/AAAAAAAAEFg/pwu928fjbFM/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-chRfyetCU1g/VsslbVTMbaI/AAAAAAAAEFg/pwu928fjbFM/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Finally I stitched the bottoms of the pockets strip, catching the at the same time<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RM4MluEvV8c/Vsslbv-FEuI/AAAAAAAAEFk/XpI2WF9WSBg/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RM4MluEvV8c/Vsslbv-FEuI/AAAAAAAAEFk/XpI2WF9WSBg/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Whilst I was stitching, I also cut two lengths of the backing fabric into 30cm by 8cm.,folded in half and stitched the length. I then cut both strips into half again,which made 4 strips. These will become the hanging strips<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V8Hxxfvvrxk/VssleUziv5I/AAAAAAAAEFs/DcagY_TsBiM/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V8Hxxfvvrxk/VssleUziv5I/AAAAAAAAEFs/DcagY_TsBiM/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A-soR-45clk/Vsslj-UNaVI/AAAAAAAAEF0/AZxMsuHsu0I/s1600/22nd%2BFebruary%2B015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A-soR-45clk/Vsslj-UNaVI/AAAAAAAAEF0/AZxMsuHsu0I/s320/22nd%2BFebruary%2B015.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Once all the pockets have been stitched into place, I then tidied up all my threads in preparation for sewing the front,back and wadding all together. I layered the pocket topped piece, the wadding and the backing fabric together. I then pinned them together. I then went round all the edges, turning the raw edges in, making sure that the wadding was captured securely. I then sewed the two sides and the bottom edges. On the top edge I pinned in the straps, securing then inside the edges. I then finally sewed the top. I then sewed again around the inside on the small pink line to make sure that the wadding was captured even more.<br />
<br />
I have so enjoyed making this fairy pocket. I made it over two afternoons, taking my time and doing a lot of shouting at my cats, who thought the whole thing was just done for their entertainment. I would recommend making this pocket without cat help..lol. This would be the perfect gift for a young girl..but I have to say that this girl is going to use this to hold my collection of scarves on the back of my bedroom door. At the moment they are all hanging on coathangers..but as expected the kittens think that they are only there to hang on to..so this will be perfect to keep them away from kitty claws.<br />
<br />
Everything that I have used is available from Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies. Julie has a wonderful selection of materials available. On a personal note, I have also started a quilt and will share some blocks with you in the next couple of weeks. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone...Genny here. For the past couple of weeks I have been looking at using your stash in lots of different ways. Whilst I was looking through all mine..I came to look through my peeloff boxes. I have always used peeloffs for border edging, as I think sometimes it can just give that finished look to many cards. But during various buying sprees, I have picked up and have been given a number of peeloffs that I have never used. I thought to myself the time is right to get some cards made with these wonderful peeloffs. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
As most of you know I just adore my cats and have a number of friends who do to. The cat peeloff was the black outline and so needed a backing. I found some rainbow card and used the peeloffs on two different ends of the paper..so they have different colourways. I decided to keep it plain and simple as I thought that would be the nicest way and just added two of my favourite cat sayings. I thought that these would make lovely note cards to send to my friends. I have also used a smaller size card than I normally do to ensure that they can go by the cheaper rate of postage. That's another reason why peeloffs are so handy..they are flat and can give great detail without any height..another thing to bear in mind when posting. I once made a small card but added a jewel which made it require a large stamp.I wouldn't have minded but if I'm going to buy a large stamp then I will make an elaborate card..not having to worry about size.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qHwI_OiqSmY/VsMqUfdnlnI/AAAAAAAAEDg/A68KHXOBvlg/s1600/16th%2BFebruary%2B003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-qHwI_OiqSmY/VsMqUfdnlnI/AAAAAAAAEDg/A68KHXOBvlg/s320/16th%2BFebruary%2B003.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My second two cards have used this lovely Chinese image of a lady...which were inspired by the fact that Chinese new year has just taken place. The peeloff outline of the ladies, I placed onto some white card and then coloured with my promarkers. Both background papers came from a Chinese themed pad which I have had for a while.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HfaqB23DRcE/VsMqZDBYdGI/AAAAAAAAEDk/Q025bHF0FyI/s1600/16th%2BFebruary%2B005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HfaqB23DRcE/VsMqZDBYdGI/AAAAAAAAEDk/Q025bHF0FyI/s320/16th%2BFebruary%2B005.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
On the card above, I first layed the background paper and then added an extra peeloff of some cherry blossom, which I then also coloured with my promarkers. The vase was a peeloff that I layed on some black card and then cut out. I chose the red and gold colouring due to them being the colours of prosperity in the Chinese culture.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
For the card below, I did much the same..colouring with my promarkers. I also added the peeloff symbols for Good Luck. Again I think that both cards would make great note cards..or even as a thank you card.I really enjoyed making all these cards and I hope that you like them and consider looking at your own stash..if you are short of anything..Julie is the place to get it. I have always considered the shop as an Aladdin's Cave of crafting goodies, and it's the first place I go when increasing my stash.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
As seems usual lately..the wind is raging round the mountains and I'm staying in and crafting..with much help from my cats..lol. Next week I will be sharing some sewing..I'm really looking forward to it. So until then...take care and happy crafting.</div>

<center style="text-align: left;">
Hello everyone..Genny here. I hope that you are all well and not suffering too much with this awful weather. Here in the mountains, the wind is raging and to me it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and craft. Ever since Christmas, I have been looking at my stash and trying to use items that I already have alongside new products. For my first card I have used a backing paper from a Christmas pad, a stamp (which has one of my favourite sayings on and some rubons that I must have had for at least 3 years. I used to hate rubons with a vengeance because I could never get them to work properly...but now technology has moved on and I have to say that these were a pleasure to use. For the card I matted and layered the saying onto some green and yellow card, used the rubons to make a frame and finally added a toning ribbon.</center>
<center style="text-align: left;">
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: left;">
For the card below, I used this wonderful little pirate stamp by Nellie Snellen. All the background paper and card are from Christmas pads. I stamped the image with my memento inkpad and coloured it with my promarkers. I even added some gold cord from my Christmas stash, as it reminded me of the gold braid used on naval hats.I think that this would make a perfect card for a little boy...even some of my older friends who tell me that they always played as pirates when they were younger..lol</center>

<center>
<br /></center>
<center style="text-align: left;">
I shall be back next week with a different project for me. I am so looking forward to it..both making it and being able to share it with you all. So until then..take care and happy crafting.</center>
