Hi Again! Sam here, late as usual. Unfortunately for me my crafty mojo did a runner this week and almost considered throwing in the towel! Luckily a few friends talked me out of that crazy idea and I managed to pull this nautical card out of the hat!
For this card I went back to Jiggery Makery's Sailor girl digi. This time I cropped her in a circle shape and framed her with a makeshift port hole! To make the porthole frame I used my aged silver frantage embossing powder and then punched holes around the frame using my crop o dile. I rummaged through my box of trinkets and found a small frame and some cute little screw eyelets which I placed randomly around the frame. I backed my small frame with white card and wrote on it and used tiny brads for each corner. This I glued to the porthole.
I coloured the sailor with my distress pens, a water brush and some homemade pearl water to give it a bit of shimmer and distressed the edges using my blending tool and weathered wood distress ink pad. I glued her directly to the card which I had stamped with chipped sapphire distress ink and a flourish stamp and then attached the porthole frame using foam adhesive.
To make the flag, I printed out the provided sentiment and got creative with my drawing! I drew a flag around the natural wave of the sentiment which I then cut and traced around 2 more printed versions of this. I then did a lot of paper piecing and distressing around the edges and gluing with foam adhesive to give it some dimension.
I hope you enjoyed the finished result! Please feel free to ask any questions as Im sure this late in the game I have probably forgotten some steps here and there! See you all next week!
Happy Crafting!
Sam
Beautiful card Sam, I love it!
