Father Christmas

Good Afternoon everyone...Genny here. Today I thought that I would share 2 more cards made using the Father Christmas cdrom by Crafters Companion. This really is a fantastic cdrom and everyone that has seen the images and cards made with them, have loved it. So many people love the film and are now making it part of their christmas tradition, so to be able to create cards with these iconic scenes is something really special.
The top card is one made using an image from the decoupage section on the cd. The backing paper is from the design set section. The decoupage was really easy to do and makes a lovely large topper for a card. The only embellishment I have added is some pine boughs that were cut in white card and some die cut snowflakes.I cut the snowflakes in white card and then painted them with twinkling H20s to match the colours in the card.
The second card is made using one of the fabric topper images from the cd. These images are larger than normal and are faded at the edges so if you wanted to use them on sewing projects..as on cushions it gives a better look. But also these images are great to use on larger cards. This card is a 8x8 one and the size of the image makes a great focal point on the card and therefore needs very little embellishment. I have only added some glitter to the image and a few diecut snowflakes.
I hope that you all like the cards. Sometimes when cardmaking we need a quick card and sometimes we like to spend a little longer..either way this cd will provide a solution..and whichever way you want to go, the finished card is going to be one that people are going to love.
The cdrom is available from Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies along with many fabulous cutting dies and embellishments. Why not pop along and have a look or contact Julie. Whatever you do..take care and happy crafting..Genny

The Snowman- Card Companions

Happy Saturday morning Crafters!!
Today I am sharing my 3rd card made using the fabulous Crafters Companion CDrom "The Snowman and Snowdog" available now from  JB-Crafting Supplies, so I thought..mmm.. I've made a card using elements from the decoupage section..then last week I used the Snowglobe section,.... so what for this week? there really is so much to choose from crafters you will be spoilt for choice! well after much deliberation and changing my mind as it is ALL fabulously wonderful! I settled on using something from the Card Companions section!
These are brilliant, as each design prints out onto one A4 sheet and has everthing you need to create a card, there will be a backing paper, topper, sometimes decoupage, ribbons and bows, buttons etc all coordinating :) I loved the image I chose as I think the colours are really soft and gentle
I decided to create my own main backing paper with this card, this is something I LOVE to do and is really simple, I selected the "Snowman" image and popped into my graphic Programme- MCS, I enlarged, cropped then faded it to around 50%- voila! one matching background paper! I chose to back onto gold mirri card and punched out some lovely gold snowflakes, each with a gold gem in the centre, a little blue bow to coordinate and pull out the blue from the background, and for my Decoupaged Snowman, as this is only one layer I wanted him to stand out a little more, so used Crafter companion Gold glitter spray to make him "Shimmer"!!
For my insert I popped the backing paper again into MCS enlarged, cropped and faded and popped on a Christmas verse
This CD is definately one you need to add to your collection!
Happy crafting

Good Morning, Zoe here ....
Today I have been using the Father Christmas stamps and the wonderful snowflake acetate

I stamped onto Neenah super smooth using ColorBox Black Surfacez

I coloured using mainly the DR Spectrum Noirs

As you can tell I decided to make a candle today
Well I didn't make the candle - I just decorated it - the easy way!!!

I attached ribbon to the top and bottom using cosmic shimmer flake and glitter glue
Stamped and coloured the image and cut the Santa and the speech bubble out and stuck this on with the cosmic shimmer glue

The candle came in a cellophane sleeve so I used this as a template to cut the snowflake acetate. I attached this with DST - double-sided tape.

The Snowman & Snowdog stamps & CD-ROM can be bought from JB-Crafting Supplies.

This candle cannot be used and is only for decoration

Father Christmas

Hello everyone, I'm back again. The two cards today are from the fantastic Father Christmas cdrom by Crafters companion. The reason that I've chosen to do two cards is to show that they both have the same image but used in very different ways.
The first card has used a card companion topper which you can use on a card on it's own but I wanted to do an 8x8 card. So underneath the image I frantaged across the bottom of the card and added the tree and reindeer.
I used
Stampendous Frantage encrusted jewel white
Memorybox...Winterland tree
Marianne design creatables LRO179..Reindeer
The image, backing paper and the greeting were from the cd.
The jewels and mounting card were from my stash.

The second card uses the same image but on a larger scale. I find this image quite magical. I have glittered the white on Santas suit and the snow on the ground.
I used
The image and backing paper from the cd
Holly leaf die cuts
The ribbon, green mounting card and the jewels are from my stash.

If you are looking for some new stash of your own..why don't you pop along and see what goodies Julie has in at JB-Crafting Supplies. I hope you like the cards and wherever you are..take care and happy crafting...Genny

Hollypond Hill Christmas

Hello everyone..Genny here. I thought that on this beautiful Sunday (well it is here in Snowdonia..for a change!), I would share these cards from Joanna Sheens Hollypond Hill Christmas cdrom. The cd features artwork by Susan Wheeler. Even though the cd features the most fantastic images of rabbits, there are many other festive images with not a rabbit in sight. I adore this cd which is a follow on to the very successful Hollypond Hill.
The first card is the time for tea card. Both the image and backing paper are from the cd. I have just added some mistletoe diecuts as an embellishment.
The second card is the christmas tree..I would love to have a tree like this but I think the cats would enjoy playing too much. The image and the backing paper are from the cd and I've just added some baubles as the embellishment. There are some wonderful christmas dies out there ..just look at the range that Julie has here at jb-crafting supplies. She also has this cd in stock. It would make a fantastic addition to your collection.
I hope that you like the cards..please take the time to have a look at what Julie sells..there are many wonderful items in stock that I'm sure you will need...I know I do. Take care and happy crafting to all..Genny

Snow Globe- Snowman & Snow Dog Card

Hi Crafters!!For today's Design Team card I have used the CDrom "The Snowman & Snowdog" from Crafters Companion, available on line and instore from JB- Crafting Supplies. I wanted to try something different this week, and as this CDrom is packed full of fabulous designs! I decided to try a "Snow Globe" card. They are so quick and easy to make up! and great for last minute cards or when you have quite a few to make. Unfortunately the camera doesnt pick up the finish, BUT i have printed onto Crafters Companion Pearlescent card stock, if you have never tried printing onto this before I can highly reccomend it, it gives a beautiful soft shimmer to your image, trust me its gorgeous!! but the camera doesnt really do it justice, I've added a lovely satin red ribbon and a few punched out snowflakes with a diamate centres
Hope you are enjoyng your christmas crafting!!

Father Christmas cdrom

Hello everyone..here is one of my cards from the Father Christmas cdrom from Crafters Companion. This cdrom is available to buy from jb-crafting supplies. It is a fantastic cd with fabulous images. I found it so hard to know which one to pick, so I thought that I would try to do something a little different for my first card. On the cd in the toppers section is a sheet of small circle images. Now these are great to use on the back of cards as an extra embellishment, on envelopes as a seal or even on the inside as a decoration on your insert. I loved the little images so much, I decided to use them as the focal point on a card.
On the card I've used:
Spellbinders Beaded Circles and Fleur De Lis accents dies
Sizzix Scalloped circles
Marianne Designs 'Frame and Swirls'...just one of the swirls
Crafts-too 'Entwined'
Images and backing paper from the cdrom
Jewels, ribbons, peeloffs and greeting from my stash.
Holographic Card.

Even though I have used these certain dies..you could use any of a similar shape.

The circle images were cut out using the scalloped circle and then matted onto the bauble shape. The backing paper was matted onto a piece of matching holographic. The swirls and the entwined die cuts were joined together to form a banner at the top. Then I used peeloffs to look like the bauble strings.

I enjoyed doing it so much, I made another card using the same technique but changed the colourways.

I hope that you all like the cards and that you will give it a go. The other ladies on the design team are all producing beautiful cards and we all love to share our ideas with you. So until the next time..take care and happy crafting....Genny

Please welcome Denise to my Design Team.

Hello I'm Denise and Thank you to Julie for this fantastic opportunity of becoming a design team member of J.B - Crafting Supplies, It’s so exciting and I can’t wait to get cracking.
I am a perfectionist card maker and a novice jewelry maker. I‘m married 41 years old with 2 children who are now both grown up, I live in South Yorkshire and work part-time giving me loads of time to craft.
I have crafted for many years now this started after having 3 months of work due to illness, this did become an addiction as with most crafters. I like to try different methods of crafting and I’m always willing to try new things. I love to use dies and distress inks to create inspirational ideas if anything this is where I’m in my element. I regularly post my creations onto my Facebook page, I occasionally blog, this will become more frequent over the coming months.
Can’t wait to get started!
Hope you like

Please welcome Genny to my Design Team.

My name is Genny and I'm a craftoholic! I share a cottage in Snowdonia with my son Henry who is a manga artist,  and our animal family. I have crafted for as long as I can remember but I really love cdrom crafting and rubber stamping. Crafting saved my sanity when I became fully disabled, as it gave me a form of escape and allowed me to be creative and feel productive. As you can imagine the cottage is filled with craft and art related stuff and everyday is an adventure. I get alot of inspiration from the beautiful place I live..watching the passing seasons and all the changing colours.

Please welcome Zoe to my Design Team.

I am a busy mum of 4 kids, although 3 are grown up, 2 have left the nest, so just me, hubby and my boys at home. I'm a nana to 5.
When my youngest daughter moved out I gained a craft room. But it still ends up all over the house!
I have always been interested in making things and I am at my happiest when I've something crafty in my hands. I love to try new things too. But my passion is colouring and my ever growing pen collection and stamp collection is taking over the living room. I think I need a full house for my craft stash not just a single room!!!
