My Mothers Dress Card!

I made this card for a 6oth birthday for a lady at school.
I created a background using a selection of small stamps.
I then used some Marvy Markers on a piece of white glossy card spritz with water and let it run until you are happy with the effect, then hear set.
I then used My Mothers Dress rubber stamp and gold ep.
I made a gold coat hanger to finish it off!

Hope you enjoy looking at the card!

Earthquake Last Night!!!!!

Oh my god did any one else feel the earth move last night!!!!!!!

Here in the UK we had an earthquake at about 1am this morning and I gather it was the strongest one in the UK for twenty five years!
I was watching TV with Kevin and we heard this rumble like the sound of a low flying helicopter and then all of a sudden the whole house just shook. I have to say I was just terrified, I have never experienced anything like this before! I could not stop shaking.
What a night!

Oriental Happy Birthday Card

Today's card is an oriental Happy Birthday Card which I think has turned out ok.
I stamped both images onto clear shrink plastic and then applied gold leaf to the back. The effect is very nice in real life but you can not see that from the photo unfortunately.

Have a great Monday everyone and happy crafting!

Mother's Day Cards

This card is for my mum for Mother's Day and I have also decorated an envelope to match.
I created the background using a flower stamp, black Stazon and then watercolour crayons.
I stamped and embossed the butterfly with black onto black card and then I used my Pearl Ex palette to colour the butterfly with.
The background is layered on to black, gold, red and then onto a black card.
The butterfly has been stuck to the card using silicon glue so I have more at the front and less at the back. The butterfly looks like it is hovering over the flowers.

I also made and envelope to match the card.

The basket card has been designed as a kit for 30 pre-school children to make.

Take a look on CMUtd challenge group

This weeks challenge is........... Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day!

Hope you enjoy lookig at the cards today!

Autumn 1

For today's card I have punched some leaves and dragonflies in a tag and stuck the tag to some more card so the tag is layered. Where I have punched out it is now sticky so I can apply some gold leaf which is in some really lovely Autumn shades.

Sorry it is a short post I seem to be really busy this week, I think I need to borrow some time lol!

Perfect Pearls Card

For today's card I have used Perfect Pearls, this is a lovely product to use but unfortunatly it does not photograph very well. I seem to have lost the colour of the main card but it does look much better in real life!

The card size is A5 and started off as white, I then stippled with lilac & pink chalk pads.
I can't remember what company the stamp is from as it is one I borrowed for a class. Anyway, I stamp the flower head on to a piece of black card to be cut out and 3d.and then stamped all over my main black card to create my background using a Versamark ink pad. I then applied my Perfect Pearls using a paint brush, brushed of the excess and left to dry for a few minuets.I then got an anti-static cloth and wiped over the background to remove the stray Perfect Pearls. When I was happy with the background I then sealed with some cheap hairspray and left to dry before laying up on to silver, black and lilac card.
I 3d my flower head and the stuck some seed beads in the centre using diamond glaze.
I made three shrink plastic butterflies and attached them to the card using diamond glaze.
Then I made some paper beads and attached them to the fibers on the card.

Hope you enjoy looking at this card!

My Gift For Dianne!

It's nice to be back blogging again!!!
Well today's project is a concertina book. I bought the kits off QVC last year and thought they would make ideal gifts for my special friends. This is not an easy one to photograph but I have done my best!
I know Dianne reads my blog so I had to wait until she received it before I could post it here, as It was a belated birthday present! She was thrilled to bits with it and is going to put some photos in of the first time we met. We have been pen pals for a few years now and as Dianne lives in South Africa and I am in the UK we have only met the once when she came to stay with us for the weekend when she was visiting family. We keep in touch via email and It would be lovely to meet up again, who knows may be one day Dianne!!!!

Sorry I have not posted!!!!!

I can't beleive it is over a week since I have last posted anything. It has been half term here so Adele & Jake have been at home and I have not had to go to work yippy!!! In between going out I have managed to organise my craft room at long last. So now I have a large box of rubber stamps and other craft bits to sell on Ebay.

We went out the other night for a lovely meal as it was Kevin's 50th birthday.

Today we went for a walk around the lake and I took this photo of the sunset. It was really cold and I was glad to get back home for a lovely hot cup of tea!

I will have some cards to show you tomorrow!

Magenta Tile Card

For today's card I have used a lovely tile stamp from Magenta. I stamped the image twice with black Stazon and then coloured with chalks. The first image was layered up on to pink, silver and burgundy card. The main card is a lovely deep pink which i stamped all over with the same tile stamp using a Versamark ink pad. I heat set this with my heat gun. I then attached my main layered image. The second image was cut into triangles & rectangles. I think you can see from the photo that I have 3D one triangle, two rectangles and a square in the centre. I think this is a nice and simple technique, which looks really nice in real life!

Thank you for looking!
Have a great Friday.

Pansy Frame Card

Sorry I did not post a card yesterday but when I got home from work I was so tired I flacked out for the evening.
Anyway today's card you will see is in my favourite colours lilac!
The pansy stamp is from PSX, the frame and pansy head is from Stamp To Your Arts Content. I embossed with black ep on the main image and used Brilliance ink pads for the frame and pansy head.
I inked the frame up with lilac, then inked the pansy head with a darker shade. I then stamped the pansy head onto the frame stamp and then very carefully twisted the pansy head. When I had covered the frame stamp I then stamped it out onto white card stock. I think you get a lovely effect with this technique.
The main pansy image has been decoupaged and watercoloured, I then added some glitter to finish it off.

Hope you enjoy looking at this card!

Zig-Zag Card

The template for this card is from Tempting Templates by Wendy Stenton and is called Zig-Zag.
You get two templates for this card and the finished folded card will fit in a C6 envelope. As much as I love these templates I find they are to small for me, as I like larger cards. I made the template larger so I ended up with a tall card, which now fits in a C5 envelope.
I stippled the main white card with chalk pads and then stamped Happy Birthday with a chalk pad. This stamp came from Stamp To You Arts Content. The flower stamps are from Penny Black and I have watercoloured these and then added a bit of glitter.

Hope you enjoy looking at this card!

Have a great Monday!

Pay It Forward!

This fun idea came from my blogging sister Kathy, which I have taken part in. I received a lovely packet from Kathy today which contained brads, 3 rolls of ribbon and a bag of mini micro beads. I can't wait to use them on my cards.

Now it is my turn to P.I. F.

The way it works is the first 3 people to leave comments on my blog will get some prizes from me. Make sure you leave your email address so I can get your home address to send you your goodies from me!!! Only people who blog can participate, because you need to do the same thing on your site and the cycle continues. Way better than a chain letter, hate those things!

Have fun!

Another Oriental Poppy

Gardening Apron & Glove Cards

This glove template has been enlarged to be cut out from an A5 card. The main stamped image is from PSX.

I made this card for a gardening friend. I found an apron template and enlarged it to be cut out of an A5 card. I have used eyelets, shrink plastic for the tools and cork.

Hope you enjoy looking at today's cards!

Oriental Style of Card!

Today's card has an oriental theme to it. The background stamp is from DeNami and the flower stamp is from Stampendous. I have made the flower image into a tile. First I stamped and embossed the image with gold ep. Then coloured the panel with chalks then UTEEd it. When I did the last layer of UTEE I added some fine glitter. I don't think you will be able to see all of the cracks I have on the UTEE panel but in real life it looks good! I think it just finishes it off.

Thanks for looking!
Hope you are all having a great Saturday.

Wow I just love these Hana rubber stamps!
I coloured the images with my new Copic Sketch markers, E44, E51, RV11, E43, V09, V06, and
VG95. The background paper came from here.
I also used a pink chalk ink pad, brads and dot peel offs.

Enjoy the card and have a great day!

Layout Sketch!

The idea for this layout came from a blog called Sketches by Tamara.
She has a scrapbook layout sketch on a Monday and a card sketch on a Thursday.

The title shows up much better in real life!

Background papers are from DCWV from a bumper pad, prima flowers, brads docraft, metal buttons Tesco, gold Bella Baubles, glass Christmas Trees, red chalk ink pad, the title was cut out on the Cricut machine using Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and glitter glue was also used on the title.

Help with unmounted stamps & Leaf Card

I have been having a sort out of my unmounted stamps and can not decide on the best way to store them. I do not want to spend any money out on buying the EZ-mount. I just want to be able to store the rubber some how!
Any ideas fellow bloggers?

Today's card I have used chalk ink pads on the main card for stippling. Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves for stamping the leaves on the main card and also for the main image which is the resist technique ( i think this is a Hero Arts stamp). The verse stamp is from Stampendous an i have embossed with gold ep onto vellum and attached to my card using eyelets.

Have a great Monday!

Peter Pan & First Snow Layouts

This is my first scrapbook layout of 2008 called First Snow. The photograph was taken out of the back bedroom window looking over the gardens while is was snowing. Unfortunately the snow did not last long, so Jake did not get a chance to make snowballs to throw at Adele!
If you click on the picture it will bring it up to full size. The words have been chalked with lilac ink and stand out much better in real life.

As some of you will know from earlier posts, I took Jake to see Billy Pearce in the panto Peter Pan in December, so I decided to make a very simple layout using the program, ticket and a vellum pocket.

Hope you enjoy looking at the layouts! What do you think Dianne!

Oriental Card

Today's card is my last one using the shaving cream technique. I think the stamp is from Stampendous, background paper Dovecraft and white organzer ribbon is from here.

I really had lots of fun making these cards with the shaving foam.

Enjoy!

Oriental Poppy Cards

Today's cards have been made using the shaving cream technique, which I love doing. It is so easy to do and the effects are stunning!
I have used Bella's Baubles on the first card, they just seem to finish the card off, I think!

Shaving Cream Technique

Supplies:

  • Shaving Cream (cheap unscented)
  • A cooking tray or wax sheet
  • 3 reinkers
  • paint scraper
  • Toothpick
  • Card Stock
  1. Spread a layer of unscented shaving cream on a flat surface (cooking tray or wax paper works great)
  2. Take 3 reinkers of compatible colors and drop dots randomly over the shaving cream (don't over do it or your work will end up muddy)
  3. Swirl colors with toothpick.
  4. Take a piece of white card stock and press into the shaving cream from the center out (to get the best of the colour combination)
  5. Remove the card stock and scrape off the extra shaving cream with an inexpensive paint scraper.
  6. You have a great background to use for cards of all types. You can repeat until it starts to appear muddy or lacks enough color.
  7. These backgrounds are perfect to stamp and emboss onto.

Enjoy the cards!

Blue Butterfly

For today's card I have used;

solid and printed butterfly stamps from Stamp To Your Arts Content
blue & lilac chalk ink pads
white card stock
vellum
acetate
lumieres in blue,green and purple
stazon
butterfly punch
blue fibre and blue elastic.

I created my background on my main white card using both butterfly stamps and the chalk ink pads.
I then stamped the word butterfly stamp on to acetate and coloured the back with lumieres.
Then stipple blue & purple on to the solid butterfly, stamp and cut out.
Attach acetate butterfly to solid butterfly using sticky pads on the body only and attach to card on sticky pads.
Stamp greeting onto vellum and attach to card then place two punch out butterfly's as if it is holding the vellum in place.
Tie elastic and fibers to spine of the card.

Hope you enjoy the card!

Sunday, 6 January 2008

Black & White SilhouetteFlowers

To-day's card is a silhouette and I have kept to a black and white theme, a very simple but elagent card I thought!

black stazon
white card stock
black card stock
silver peel off corners
background paper from Dovecraft, Amethyst-Floral Prints
rubber stamp from Magenta 14536 F
black organza ribbon.

Enjoy the card!

Blog Candy Winner!!!

and the winner is!

Wife2tj

Well done, congratulations.

If you can email me your address to
julie@bradwell.plus.com
I will get your candy posted out to you this week.

This is my first card for 2008 but I am not very happy with the photo. This card looks way better in real life.
I have used gold card and gold embossing powder.
The stamp is a large selection of leaves and was from Stampendous but I think tit has been discontinued now. This is one of my favourite leave stamps.
I have stamped with the same stamp using black Stazon on a quarter of a CD and then painted the image with Lumieres.
The two leaves are from some shrink plastic which have been painted with Lumieres and when heated they bubble and give you a nice effect.
I finished off with some embroidery threads and a verse stamped in gold onto vellum and two punched out gold leaves.

Enjoy the card!

So a little about myself for the other members to see, my name is Julie and I live in South Yorkshire UK. I married to Kevin and we have four children, carl 22, Scott 20, Adele 17 and Jake 10. I have been into crafts of some sort for most of my life. I came across rubber stamping about fifteen years ago and I am totally hook. I am looking forward to spending lots of time in my new room.
I have taught cardmaking classes at shops and at home for over 5 years which I enjoyed.
