Design team make...Using your stash

Hello everyone..Genny here. I hope that you are all well and not suffering too much with this awful weather. Here in the mountains, the wind is raging and to me it's the perfect weather to stay indoors and craft. Ever since Christmas, I have been looking at my stash and trying to use items that I already have alongside new products. For my first card I have used a backing paper from a Christmas pad, a stamp (which has one of my favourite sayings on and some rubons that I must have had for at least 3 years. I used to hate rubons with a vengeance because I could never get them to work properly...but now technology has moved on and I have to say that these were a pleasure to use. For the card I matted and layered the saying onto some green and yellow card, used the rubons to make a frame and finally added a toning ribbon.

For the card below, I used this wonderful little pirate stamp by Nellie Snellen. All the background paper and card are from Christmas pads. I stamped the image with my memento inkpad and coloured it with my promarkers. I even added some gold cord from my Christmas stash, as it reminded me of the gold braid used on naval hats.I think that this would make a perfect card for a little boy...even some of my older friends who tell me that they always played as pirates when they were younger..lol

I shall be back next week with a different project for me. I am so looking forward to it..both making it and being able to share it with you all. So until then..take care and happy crafting.

Design team makes....Not just Christmas

Hello everyone...Genny here. First let me say Happy New Year and that I hope that 2016 brings you much happiness. My first design team make for this year, uses what is thought of as a Christmas stamp..to make a card that could be used for anything. The stamp set that I have used is from Crafters Companions Adorables range. This range features the designs of Jayne Nestorenko. This set is called Loving and is part of a six stamp set. This was produced as a christmas stamp but by looking at it a bit differently..you can make a lovely Thankyou/Birthday card.

I used the image of the little girl with the cat. I stamped the image using my memento inkpad and then colored it with my promarkers.

I then mounted the image onto some gold mirri. The card itself I covered with some paper from my stash and then added a paper border. I then embellished with a heart die cut and some flowers which I coloured to match in with the colours that I've used. I do so love looking at what I have and trying to use them in a different way.

For the next few weeks, I will be using other 'christmas' themed goods to make rest of the year makes. The way I see it is if you can use some of your christmas stash for other cards, then you're getting more for your money..and at this time of year, we're all looking for ways to save money.

I hope that you all had a fabulous festive season and that the new year brings you lots of exciting crafting. So until next week..take care and happy crafting.

Design team make featuring Joanna Sheens 'Hollypond Hill cdrom

Hello everyone...Genny here. For today, I am lucky enough to be working with Joanna Sheens cdrom...Hollypond Hill. I just love this cdrom because as you know, I adore rabbits but also there are just so many beautiful baking papers on this disc that I use them an awful lot for other card projects. Besides the rabbit images..which are just so cute, there are many images that do not feature rabbits but are equally beautiful. For the first two cards, I have made two new baby cards.

Now the card below is one that doesn't feature the bunnies but oh what a pretty card. I'm thinking of using this image on my Easter cards this year. I just love everything about this card...the china, the flowers and the little nest.

The final card is a simple thankyou card but it is very handy to have such a useful card in your stash

The cd is featuring the artwork of the very talented Susan Wheeler. As well as the toppers and backing papers, this cd also features decorative frames, decoupage sheets and inserts, as well as much more. There are cards that you could make for birthdays, anniversaries, new home, newbaby, Mothers Day and Fathers day,..the list just goes on and on.
The whole cd reminds me of the story books that I loved as a child and I love the images and the little stories they make you think of.
You can get this cd from Julie here at JB-Crafting Supplies and it's one that I'm so glad that I have in my stash..
I hope that you all have a great week and that the weather treats you well. Here in the mountains today, it's raining and the wind is raging..all the cats are snuggled in their beds and don't look as if they are moving any time soon..lol. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

DT make - Teddy Bear's Picnic

Hi everyone Bev here with this week's DT make using Joanna Sheen papers - designed by Janet Kruskamp.
I love these papers & I don't think anything else is needed when these are used. There are some lovely pages in this paper pad. each page can be used to make a card with a main image, sentiments & embellishments.
I cut out the main image & the parts for decoupage. Adhered these with foam pads for depth.
Matted this onto white, then green card & added the sentiment.
There are some lovely Teddy images & the quality of the paper is really good with a lovely glossy shine to it.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas & hope you all have a lovely time, whatever you're doing.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Bev xxx

Design Team Make

Hello everyone..Genny here. Today I thought it would be nice to share what you can also do with a 'christmas stamp'. Instead of making a chrstmas card I thought that the image would make a perfect birthday card for a little girl. I like stamps when you can use them for other occasions  as well as that they are designed for. I stamped the image using a memento inkpad and for a change used my watercolour paints to colour it. I then mounted the image onto some gold mirri. I glued some pink polka dot paper onto the card and added a toning border. I then embellished the card with some flowers and a heart from my stash.

Of course it would look just as good using different colourways. Shades of liilac would look good as would shades of blue. You could alter it to whatever the little girls favourite colours are. Also using this stamp you could also change the cat to the teddy

I will be back later in the week sharing some cards from the Bebunni christmas cdrom. I am currently working with this cd and as you liked the original Bebunni cd, I thought that you might enjoy a look at the christmas cd. So until then..take care and happy crafting

The Rachelle Anne Miller Collection

Good afternoon everyone ..Genny here. Today I'm lucky enough to be working with the Rachelle Anne Miller collection again. There is really so much on these cds, I'm having a wonderful time. For a start I thought as last week I made a girlie card..this time I thought I would make a card for the little boys. One of the really nice things on this cd is the fact that they have ready made large (8x8) toppers. This is really unusual for a cd. They also have the inserts to match every design and cover most sizes of matching envelopes as well. All I have added to the card is some peeloffs and jewels. As well as the topper there is a wide selection of greeting circles so you can personalize it even more.
Another great feature is the party bags. These are so easy to make and will save you loads of money if you have a party to organise.

Above is the girlie one...made to match last weeks card. And below is the boys one to match todays card. Each bag prints out on 2 A4 sheets of paper and then it's ust a matter of cutting out and gluing. You could also print the inside with a backing paper of your choice by ust printing on the reverse of the bag template. All I have added is a tag to match each bag...ust to add a bit more sparkle. The bags are a good size..easily big enough to hold a piece of cake.a small toy and some sweets. I was shocked to see how much party bags are to buy in the highstreet shops...so this really is worth considering.

Remember..so far I have only used 2 of the images...I'm really excited about what's coming next. If you would like to add this to your own cd library, then please contact Julie here at jb crafting supplies.
I hope that all your christmas preparations are going well. I'm still up to my knees in glitter but I can feel the excitement rising. So until next week..take care and happy crafting...Genny.

Another Amaryllis Card!

Morning everyone!
Today's card is using up some leftover bits from my Amaryllis card class
that I shared with you last week.
I kept it nice and simple, no layering of the image.
I used my Versamark ink pad and a feather stamp on the main card, not sure if you will be able to see this but it looks nice in real life.

Have a great day everyone and happy crafting!

Pansy Card

Today's card is what I made for last Tuesday's class.
We did watercolouring & felt pens.
Stamps are from Penny Black.
The background of the card, insert & envelope
have all been stippled with lavender &
wisteria chalk ink pads (you can't see this from the photo very well).
Lilac corners have been punched out of vellum.

I have used my water colour crayons on the large stamp
and everything else has been coloured with
my copic pens.
I then finished off with a bit of glitter!

Hope you enjoy looking at my card!

It is raining quite heavily here and is very dull
& miserable a great day for crafting!

Cute Little Bear Birthday Card!

Hello everyone, I am sorry I have not been around for a while but I have been
really busy tiding my craft room and of course house work.

For today's card I have used a new stamp that I had for Christmas.
The balloons have been glittered but that does not show up very well.

Have a great evening!

Julie
