Rose Card For 40th Birthday

Good evening everyone!

Well today's card is a decoupage rose for a 40th birthday.
I must say that these cards have been very popular with people. I normally never make the same card more than once so everytime I make this card I try to make each one a little different.

This week I am doing a Family Learning course with Jake at his new school. The aim is to get them to make some new friends before they start school in September. I think Jake is quite looking forward to going to a new school. Anyway to get back to the course, we are making robots and I must say it is fun!
I am just colouring some tin foil with some alcohol inks to cover part of the robot with. I will try and get some photos and put them on here Friday evening.
Bye for now Julie.

*Magnolia Challenge 32* Cold as ice...

This weeks challenge over on the Magnolia blog
is Cold as ice..... and here is my take on the challenge!

Main card is blue pearlescent.
Let it snow background paper from Paper mania.
White cs has been embossed with the snow flake die. Then edged with a blue chalk ink pad and glitter glue added to the raised bits.
I did a bit of masking to get the two images together.
Glittered the tree stump.
Coloured in front of the tree stump with blue chalk ink pads to create a water effect.
I then covered this with Diamond glaze to create an icy look!
Added some button snowflakes, Prima flowers with zooms for the centres and some ribbon.

Hope you enjoy looking at the card.

Black & White Wedding Card

Today's card is a commissioned black & white wedding card.
I have never made a black & white wedding card before, so this was a bit of a challenge for me.

At first I was not sure if I liked it but it has grown on me.

The background paper has been printed from a wedding CD.
The stamped images have been embossed.
I have used black & white organza ribbon together.
Added some black glitter to the cake.
Used my black glaze pen on the hearts & ribbon.
Coloured peel off dots black with peel off pens.
Coloured corner brads black with peel off pens.

Now I have to design another black & white card for the parents of the bride.

Hope you enjoy looking at the card!
See you tomorrow!

Julie

I am back!

Goodness me, it feels sooo long since I blogged!
It has really been hectic around here, what with the summer fair at school,
our Anniversary and holiday and then our family holiday!
But now I am back and I can get some crafting done.
I have really missed spending time in my carftroom and also keeping my blog up to date.

Tonight the card I am going to show you is one I made for Kevin for our Anniversary.

As Kevin likes steam trains, I decided to make a photo card using one of my photos from our holiday at Wells-next-the-sea.
This is the steam train we went on from Holt to Sherringham.
I have to say he was delighted with the card!

Happy crafting Julie!

Dungeness

Dungeness is an unique landscape with wooden houses, power stations,
a miniature railway line, two lighthouses and expansive gravel pits.

This is the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch miniture railway.

This is the old lighthouse which we climbed to the top.

This is the new lighthouse which is operational.

This is the walk way across the gravel pits to get to the beach.

See you tomorrow!

Folkestone Yesterday!

As I am unable to post any cards I thought I would post some photos of our days out.
Yesterday we spent the day at Folkestone, the weather was really hot, too hot really!
Not many people on the beach.
The town center has a few nice shops.

Magnolia Challenge This Week is Bugs!

This weeks challenge over on the Magnolia blog

is "bugs"

Sorry It's been so long!

Hi everyone, I am so sorry for not posting sooner but this has been a very busy time for me this year. I have been very busy with work, family, summer fair at school, card classes and getting things ready for our holiday. It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary last week and Kevin and myself went on holiday for a week on our own!

But more about that in another post!

Shadow Box Card

Today's card is from my Thursday cardmaking class and is an oriental shadow box card.
The template came from splitcoast stampers site which I have enlarged so it will now fit an A5 envelope.
The card looks a lot better in the flesh.

I used black card stock for the shadow box.
The cherry blossom was stamped with a Versamark ink pad and then I used pink/golg Pearl Ex.
All of the images were embossed with gold and coloured with the Pearl Ex watercolour pallet.
The moon was punched out of yellow card stock and then glittered.
Then we made paper beads for the side of the card.

Enjoy!

My Swap Domino

Here is my domino for the swap, it did not scan very well but it looks better in real life.
I attached a bead to the top so it can be worn as a necklace.

Have a great day!

Julie

Domino Swap

Yesterday I received this lovely domino from Carol.
We took part in a domino swap on CCSwaps.
The domino has been coloured on both sides.

I started teaching some card making classes in school to parents a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I would share what we made last week.
They came in for Father's Day for Adele & Jake to give to Kevin.
I kept it simple and only used printed paper, die cuts and peel offs!

My Card for the Magnolia Challenge!

This is my first time to create a card for the Magnolia challenge found here
I had great fun creating this card, as I love black & white but don't use it very often!

*Challenge 19*

It's time for a bit of black and white theme, ideally no other colours to be used on you work.

(but if you are struggling with this then your magnolia image ( or 1 of if using more than 1 )
may have 1 more colour of your choice.

Once again work must include a magnolia stamp, and could be anything aslong as it is arty crafts.

If you click on my card you will see the detail better. I have added glitter to the petticoat and diamond glaze to the jacket and boots.
Have a great day everyone!

Our Visiter!

This cat has been a visiter to our house for the past few days and it was all skin and bones. So Adele fed it and now it keeps coming back. It's been here all day today and I am a big softy and fed it. It seems to have settled down here and fallen a sleep in the conservatory. Adele wants to keep it and I say No! we don't know the first thing about cats!

It's a lovely warm day here and I have been out in the front garden trying to tidy it up a bit!

Wedding Gift & Card

Today's post is to show you a card (which is already on my blog) and a gift for my son's best friend who got married yesterday! There is a bottle of champagne and some champagne flute glasses. Carl did not have a box for the glasses, so I had to make one for them, easy I thought but then I did not have any card bigger than 12 x 12. Oh no I thought what am I going to do! Then I remembered when I was blog hopping I found a tutorial for a box, just the bottom ( sorry I can't remember who's blog it was but I will try and find out so I can post a link here), so I set to work scaling down the pattern and when I was happy I made two boxes and stuck them together. Popped a glass in each box and used gold tissue paper around them, then I glass them up and finished the gift of with some cream and burgundy organza ribbon. If you click on the photo it will enlarge for you.

Enjoy!
Have a great Saturday!
