Design team makes...Stamp Board and Silhouettes

Hello everyone...Genny here. For this weeks design team makes, I decided to have a play and use silhouette stamps and some stamp board. For all my backgrounds I have used a glossy card and have created them using my dusting brushes and my distress inks. One thing that I hope comes across is the variety of backgrounds that you can make just by changing the colours that you use. For the card above, I created the background, let it dry and then stamped the silhouette using my versafine inkpad. I also stamped onto some acetate using my stazon inkpad..a butterfly..which I coloured with my promarkers and then cut out. I finally added it to the card.

For the card below..I created a background and then stamped the scene onto it. I then mounted it onto black and white to highlight the image.

The three cards below are using exactly the same images and sentiment but all have different colour backgrounds. I did this just to show you how the colours make each card different and suitable for different projects. I think the plain black and white image would make a very dramatic card.

And while I as having a play, I came across some stampboard in my stash. A few years ago, stampboard was everywhere and then all of a sudden seemed to disappear. Well now it is back and seems to be a lot cheaper than it used be. I had forgotten just how much I loved working with it. One of the things that I adore about stampboard is the clean definition that it gives to whatever stamp you decide to use.

For my first make, I created a keyring. I stamped the sentiment on it and doodles around it. I then wired some beads to it. It takes the ink really well..using the pen, I thought to myself that I could zentangle onto it..watch this space..I will share it with you next week. I am also in progress of making a bracelet..it is drying at the moment. So that will come next week as well.

The tiny door hanger below was made using stampboard. I first coloured the stampboard with my distress inks and then stamped the words onto it. I then created a little hanger and joined the pieces using some beads and wire, What I did discover that my cropodile makes the holes in the stamp board really easily.

This final piece is a work in progress. I stamped onto the stampboard using my memento inkpad and then simply coloured it in with my promarkers. I have yet to decide what I'm going to turn this into.

One thing that I have been asked about a lot is what inkpad to use when using different mediums...so I thought that I would jot a few down for you all.

Memento Ink pads.....I use this for any alcohol pen work..promarkers, copics, spectrum noirs etc.
Versafine Inkpads...I use this for any image I wanted to watercolour or use any waterbased colours with.
Staz on Inkpads...I use this for glass, acetate and any other non porous projects

Versa mark Inkpads...I use this for any projects that I want to use embossing powders on. Also there is the Perfect Medium inkpad that you can use for embossing.

I hope that, that helps you a bit. As always should you have any questions about any project that I've made..please don't hesitate..just ask and I will be more than happy to help. Any thing you need for your crafting..just ask Julie here at JB-Crafting supplies.

The weather here in the mountains is beautiful...I hope that the sun is shining for you wherever you are. So until next week...take care and happy crafting.

Design team makes using a Stampendous stamp

Hello everyone..Genny here. First things first..I would like to wish you all a happy new year and hope that you all had a fabulous christmas. For my first make of the new year I decided to make a little piece of art for my kitchen wall. I had a small piece of canvas board and painted it with acrylic paint..Buttermilk and then I edged the board with some burgundy acrylic. I then stamped the image 5 times. The image is from the Stampendous range and is called Cling teapot Posies. I stamped the image using my memento inkpad and coloured the pieces I wanted using my copics. I kept one whole image and cut 4 pieces using just the roses. I mounted the four groups of roses in the corners of the board, having cut off the rosebuds to space them on the sides. I then added the whole image at the base of the board. I then added the little quote at the top. The only thing that I have left to do is to use a spray varnish to cover all the board.

While I was playing creating the board, I looked at the image and decided that it would be perfect to use for my thankyou cards. I used an embossing folder by Crafters Companion which featured roses and thought it would be perfect to use as a background on the card. I have to admit to the fact that I couldn't decide whether to use the pink or the cream..so in the end I used both. I cut 4 squares and added them to the card and then mounted the image onto some pearlescent card. I edged the squares with a pink glittery peeloff.
I haven't decided whether or not to add a peeloff greeting.I would like to say just what a pleasure it is to use this stamp...it's so easy to use and stamps perfectly every time. Over the years I must have tried hundreds of different brands and some I have to say have been a pain. Every stampendous stamp I have ever used has been a joy. Lovely detail and a cleanly stamped image every time. I know that Julie has a fabulous range in the shop   and they are well worth a look. I have ordered quite a number for my crafting in this new year. I have to admit that there are a lot of cat images which I just have to have..lol.

If there is anything else that you would like to know about the work that I do for Julie..please do not hesitate to get in touch. I love to share the work I do. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Blossom. Design team makes.

Hello everyone...Genny here. For this weeks makes I thought that I would have a play with one stamp, similar embellishments and just share how two different cards can be make. And then as a bonus, using the waste paper to make a backing for yet another card. The stamp that I have used is from Sheena Douglas and features the blossom on a branch. Now for a start you could make it whatever colour that you wanted but I chose to make it using pink shades. I stamped with memento ink and coloured with my copics. I cut out the stamped image into an oval and mounted it onto some gold mirri. I edged this with peeloffs. Both cards that I made are an 8x8 card, with a pink background card onto which I mounted some backing papers from my stash..one pink and one green with pink flowers. They both have the same flowers at the side as an embellishment.

On one of the cards I have decorated with pearl swirls and on the other I have used green foliage diecuts from my stash. Both cards are embellished with a strip of lace. But as you can see they are very different cards in their makeup. I often do this with stamped images..stamp out 2 of the same design and try to make 2 cards that are similar yet different. Then on the card below I have used the waste paper from the two to make a striped background for yet another card. I had a topper of Boofle

which I had decoupaged ready to use, but hadn't decided where to use. Then I created this background and decided that it would be a great background for him. I have yet to put the greeting on the card but I'm thinking it would make a great 'Oh no I forgot your birthday' card. No matter how organised we think we are we all forget the odd one and this would be a great standby card.
Well I hope you all have a fantastic week and have some great crafting days. So until next time take care and happy crafting.

Design Team Post..Cupcakes and Daisies

Good afternoon everyone. First let me apologise for being a day late with this post. I will share the reason why because as crafters you will know exactly why this happened. I received my dt parcel from Julie and to my absolute joy it was stamps. So I had it all planned..intending to stamp and make cards ready for Mondays post. Well I got into stamping and colouring so much that it got to Sunday night and I realised that I hadn't even got to making a card..lol. I messaged Julie and admitted to my crime of not being ready and Julie laughed saying she had done the same thing many times. So yesterday I finally got to make some cards. I thought that I would begin with the cupcakes as we all seem to love them or at least know someone who does. What choices I had to make. My first above represents a mint and chocolate. Simply stamped and coloured and then added to a patchwork background
My second card features the same cupcake with strawberries dipped in chocolate and placed onto another patchwork backing. My final cupcakes I have just coloured in pastel colours..I thought after I had made this card how nice these would be on a baby shower invitation..perhaps I will have a play with that later this week. All my cupcakes I have coloured with my copics.

Finally I have created a small wall hanging using some canvas board. I painted the canvas with acrylic paint, stamped and coloured and then cut out the daisies, finally adding them to the canvas. I put one of my favourite Oscar Wilde quotes in the middle.

I hope you like todays selection..I will try and do some more for later in the week. Until then take care and happy crafting..Genny

WII Boy Birthday Card No. 2

Hi everyone!
It's been another lovely day here in South Yorkshire, I hope you are
all enjoying the sunshine.
I have been out all day today, this morning I went to a class to learn how to do
Pergamano, which made a lovely change for me and I really enjoyed it.
Then this afternoon I had my card making class, I will show you the card later on in the week.

I made this card for Carl's birthday using the WII boy download that I used for Jake's card.
I then downloaded some pictures of the internet to complete the card.

I have now got to go and finish off my gardening.

See you all soon.

Julie
